Product Protection Scam on Speakers
I ordered these speakers, and then received a receipt from Target/Allstate that included a 2 year protection plan that cost more than the speakers. I checked online, and the Target website seemed to say neither item could be returned. I called customer service to question this, since I specifically rejected this ridiculous insurance plan. I was assured the charge would be removed and my speakers would be delivered on 9/12. Then customer service advised me of the need to transfer to fraud to complete the refund. The person I spoke with said the insurance could only be cancelled if the product were returned. I said “great, cancel both.” But no, I must now wait to receive a product I did want soon in order to return it in person and then fill out a form to get a refund for my protection plan. This business practice is unfair to consumers. As a long time Target shopper, I can say I am no longer one of your long time customers.

Not a reliable protection plan
I bought a wireless beats studio headset a few months back and got this protection plan aswell. A few weeks after wearing the the headset the left ear went out and made loud buzzing/beeping noises, so I tried to get this dealt with but I was told that I never got the protection plan and that it wasn’t set up after I clearly bought it and set it up online the day I got everything. since then I stopped doing business with target, the protection plan is unreliable. About 300$ down the drain.

We apologize if there was any difficulty with the consumer using their warranty. Whenever Squaretrade encounters an issue with locating a policy we request the consumer provides us a copy of the receipt in order to have the issue addressed. Once this receipt is provided to Squaretrade our back office team will locate the policy and notify the customer within 48 business hours. - Kristopher M

Beware
Target’s former protection plan, Asurion, was better and superior than this plan. This protection plan does not cover accidents. Square Trade does have an accidental protection plan but it must be purchased separately. This one only covers normal wear over time.

Squaretrade offers both standard protection and accidental damage plans, as well as a thirty day return policy wherein we will cancel a plan and provide a full refund if the customer is dissatisfied with their coverage. Standard protection plans offer coverage against hardware and electrical failures, as well as wear and tear. - Kristopher

DON'T BUY
I cannot believe this is what Target is selling as a protection plan. I bought an asurion protection plan on a device from Target in the past and it covered everything! This does not cover anything that I thought it did. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS
