Allstate does not honor their service product

I bought a 24" Vizio TV from target on 11/01/20 and purchased the protect plan from Allstate at the same time. On 06/19/22 lines began appearing on the TV screen and became bad enough the TV became unwatchable. It was impossible tell what channel it was on it was so bad. Luckily for me I remembered we had this policy and since the TV was less than 2 years old the policy was still in effect. We called Allstate went through their trouble shooting to no avail. They asked for photos of the broken TV and we provided them including additional photos that with a different input source. Waited 48 hours and called back to determine the status and they said needed 24 more hours. I requested to talk to management and they said then reviewed the photos and said the it did not cover Internal mechanical issues. So I asked what did the policy cover If it does not cover internal issues with TV why are they selling it. I had to argue with the upper layer of management to get most of the money covered but they claimed they shouldn't have to pay for the TV replacement under the policy purchased. Like they were doing it out of the goodness of their hearts. I wanted to argue with them more but since I was getting enough money to offset the purchase the cost of a new TV I decided to quit while I was ahead. Very dissatisfied with the length of time it took them to process this, a obvious defective TV and the fact I did cock not get them to admit that despite photographic proof and trouble shooting I went through. I'm including a picture of the TV and after the television was purchased it was mounted on the bedroom wall and never moved.

Glad I bought the Sqr Trade Plan

Very good experience. Purchased TV in November 2017, bought the 3 year plan, and in August 2020, the TV started having problems. Not sure what would happen, I went online and filed a claim. Within a few days of filing the claim, I spoke with a technician from Square Trade, who walked me through steps to reset and possibly fix the TV. When he determined it was beyond repair, he told me I would be issued a refund of an amount = to about 80% of what I paid for the TV. After almost 3 years, I thought that was good. I was glad I had bought the plan and glad I took the time to go online and submit a claim.

You pay for 3 year warranty and you really only get 2 years warranty. Manufacturer gives first year warranty.

I took the TV back to Target that this coverage was purchased for. Target told me I needed to call Square to cancel the coverage. Called Square and they couldn't find my info in their system and told me to call Target!!! Still haven't gotten the issue resolved.

BEWARE buying these type of warranties. There is no Accidental Damage protection and Squaretrade will use this as an excuse to deny the claim. Any sort of screen issue can be attributed to "physical damage" and denied, even when its clearly not physical in origin. I never had any problem with Squaretrade in the past but have had my last few claims denied even though they should have been legitimately covered. I know others that have had the same problem now that these policies don't cover Accidents.

I feel comfortable because this purchase lessens the worries of additional expenses just in case something happens. I will have to check my email but I believed I received a notice regarding this purchase of a 3 year warranty.
