3M Indoor Window Insulator Kit Patio Door

no longer includes tape

The double stick tape does not stick well, like it use too. It’s to bad, because this has always been a great product and I s used it for over 20 years.

I've been using this for years, but this year the paper won't release from the tape making the product unusable. I see many others have had the same issue. Where is quality control?

what a piece of junk. I've bought this kit for years and know how to apply it, this year the tape is horrible...I just threw out the kit and going to the store to buy a different brand....really 3M I thought more of your product but this is terrible...bye bye...not only me but whoever I could tell about you kit...it will be a negative ...come on the tape is terrible..and your 3M...

I have always had good luck with the indoor patio window insulating kit, and that is what I purchased again this year. After getting everything prepped, I started to attach the tape and realized after about 1/3 done, the paper liner wouldn't peel off! After searching the house (I'm in a rural area and don't have a store within 25 miles) luckily I found enough to complete the project. The film was fine. Disappointed.

I have used 3M window insulator kit for patio doors for years. Inside & outside & they worked great. One year I couldn't find it at m y store so had to use a different brand. Which was poor. Then last year I bought 3M somewhere & the tape was awful. It wouldn't work so I searched the house & found some old rolls of tape that were left from other years. They worked. I talked to someone at 3M & he assured me they were going to improve it for this year. So, I bought the 3M again & the tape is awful. Paper won't come off on either side. I got it off for about 6 inches then the paper ripped & can't peel it. I am so disappointed. Going to have to see what else is available. They need to improve their product or go back to the old tape which worked well

I bought this one day ago. Paper will not release from tape. Plastic is super thin and does not shrink like it used to. Last year I had left over plastic and tape from the year before. From reading reviews I see the problem started last year. I’ve been using this product for over 10 years ,and always told people how superior it was to the competition. Sad to see a company that made a great product ,get so cheap just to save some money. Went and bought Duck max strength and tape and plastic is how 3m’s used to be. Plastic is not quite as crystal clear,but is far superior to 3m’s junk.

I have used this product for years and will only use the 3M Window Insullation kits. It is completely clear and most of all cuts down incredibly on my drafty old very large windows. I highly recommend this product. Cheaper ones are difficult to mount--pull apart in your hands. 3M Indoor Patio Door is best for 2 sets of large double windows and a custom made door...well worth the money.

After 15 minutes of trying to start a corner to peel off the paper liner, the paper tore and left a film on the tape so it isn’t sticky. There is no way to get it off and there is not enough tape redo. So frustrated with this product and will never purchase again.

This easily installed kit made all the difference. It both blocked the draft and still allowed the light to come through. This is a product I will definitely use every year from not on.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a sample of the 3M Window Insulator Kit. This review is based solely on my experience. The film was relatively easy to apply and there was a good seal. It was no air movement through the window after the film was applied so I am expecting to see a decrease in my utility bill for heating. The film seemed sturdy and did not rip during the application.

I installed it on the inside of an old storm door that has been letting in too much of the cold especially on a windy day. The directions for the product were clear and the installation was remarkably easy. So far the product has helped keep out the cold. The real test will be on a frigid January day or one that is particularly windy. I have high hopes that this product will do the job.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I found this product easy to install. Mostly clear when you smooth out the creases. Where I live it hasn't gotten super cold yet, so I can't say I've felt a noticeable difference yet, but I hope it will!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product works well in cutting the cold air coming in through the window. The only downside was putting it on the window. It wasn’t as easy as they say and I had a little difficulty doing it myself. Having 2 people made all the difference. All in all it is working well to keep our living room toasty warm.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 3M window insulator kit is so easy to install and is impossible to see when looking out the window. With a little patience all the wrinkles can be smoothed out (and it was nice to just stand still for 15 minutes and see actual results from mindless work). Living just off of Lake Superior in a 100+ year old house makes this the best value for saving money on heating. It also keeps the family from having to wear coats or blankets in the house when the wind blows. I received this product for my review, but all opinions are my own.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recieved this kit from 3M and was asked to evaluate it. We have a family room which is built on a slab foundation and has sliding patio doors. In New Jersey our winters can get cold and this room can be chilly. Any thing to make this room warmer would be appreciated. The kit was very easy to install and I could probably have done it by myself, but my husband lent a hand. More then enough double stick tape and the plastic was more than adequate to cover the doors. My always cold husband just said that he thinks it feels warmer in here. I love it already!
