Heat is the reason the ink becomes "colorless'
For those who find the ink 'disappears' : To erase, use a FriXion eraser. Note: Heat from erasing friction or other sources, will cause FriXion thermo-sensitive ink to become colorless at temperatures >140ºF. To restore color, cool to at least 14ºF in a freezer. FriXion is not recommended for use on legal or official documents.

The ink is very pretty and the pens write great but I use this to write down these that I need for the future reference and I open it after a month and it was half gone. So it only good if you are going to write and then throw away.
