A: The Murphy's Naturals Mosquito Repellent Candle is made to repel mosquitos.

We lit it 1/2 hour before eating outside and did not get any mosquito bites while eating and talking for over an hour. I bought 2 more tonight just to make sure those little buggers stay away.

A: We recommend using our repellent candle outside in a well-ventilated area since it uses a high concentration of active ingredients: Rosemary oil, Peppermint oil, Citronella oil, Lemongrass oil, Cedarwood oil.

Didn't seem to work :(
Did not work for me. I was trying to enjoy sitting in my backyard in Bushwick, NY with my neighbor and we were completely eaten up. I'm really disappointed because I heard great things about this brand.

Nice but...
This candle has a pleasant scent. The lidded tin is convenient for travel. I'm honestly not sure how effective it is at keeping away mosquitoes though. I did get bit while eating at a picnic table where it was burning.

Sadly disappointed Faulty wicks
Bought these candles last year and the wicks fell into the hot wax and they are unusable now. As much as I paid, I had expected the wax to burn all the way down. There’s at least a half cup of wax to go with a limp wick.

Needs better candle wick
I have purchased the candle and refills. The problem is the wick is too short. Once the candle starts to burn and melt, the wick gets lost in the candle. The wick should start from the bottom to the top.

The wick is indeed glued securely to the bottom of the tin, typically leaving about 1/2 inch visible once the wax sets. It sounds like your candle might have experienced some "pooling," which can happen if the entire wax surface doesn’t completely melt before extinguishing. I completely understand how frustrating that can be. Please remember to let the wax melt all the way before turning it off to help avoid this issue in the future. Useless
The most useless item for repelling mosquitoes. I am typing this while I am getting bitten by mosquitoes everywhere. The advertisement is misleading. It does nothing.
