The Blink Mini 2 has limited features without a subscription, primarily restricted to live view and basic motion alerts. Advanced features like person detection, extended cloud storage, and some notification settings are only available with a Blink Subscription Plan. . The packaging looks like they have been to war
Not sure if the cameras are even going to work. They were a day later than was indicated but no worries. Target box was in perfect condition, the product packaging however looks like it was in a war. Not what you expect when you order a new product for sure!

Lacks Functionality w/ Alexa App
This is a good indoor camera and does everything it needs to. However, if you are looking for an indoor camera to integrate to your wider smart home system that is entirely controlled by the Alexa phone app, do not buy this camera. I control every light in my home using the Alexa app, as well as view the live feed of my doorbell camera. The Blink camera, while advertised as "working" with Alexa, does no more than enable it as a skill to be used to view with Alexa devices with screens (EXCLUDING the phone app).

At this time, Blink cameras in the Alexa smartphone app are only used to set up some settings and enable them across your Alexa ecosystem. You are correct that it is currently not able to be used as a way to see your camera feed within the app itself just yet. You are able to use the Blink smartphone app for all of those features as well as any screened Alexa device such as Echo Shows and Fire Sticks. The value in this device is the cost and ease of use and plug and play design to make it easy for a wirelessly connected solution that you can see via your Blink App on your smartphone. If you are saying that you are not even able to see that, then there may be something wrong in the setup and we would love the opportunity to troubleshoot further with you to see if we can resolve it for you and improve your experience. You can reach out directly to us at Blink Customer Support via the Blink smartphone app's Help Menu located under Settings. Once there, you tap Contact Us and you can call directly or via the web's Chat Online feature. Company steals your money!
Please be careful buying this item! There is a $39.00 charge to be able to use this camera and if try to see any info about it you lose your money. Even though you never use the app, return the monitor they refuse to refund you your money!!! That's stealing!!!

You can save clips to Local Storage for no monthly fee by adding a USB flash drive to a Sync Module 2. You can also get motion activated alerts straight to your phone without subscription. If you'd like, extended live view for up to 90 minutes continuous, motion event recording, live view recording, unlimited cloud storage for up to 60 days, auto local storage backup, instant video access, effortless video sharing, person detection and more, you can get the Blink Basic plan for a small fee. Do not buy. After a trial period you have to subscribe to be able to access the recordings on the app. What's the point of a security camera if you can't see who broke into your house. Do not buy, it's a scam.

Blink Subscription Plans offer additional features for those who want them. For a small monthly or yearly fee, you can get access to motion detection video recording, live view recording, extended Live View, 60-day unlimited video history, rapid video access (instantly watch your videos as soon as they’re recorded), video sharing, photo capture, person detection, and auto-update thumbnail. Only records video if you pay $11.99 a month for the subscription service otherwise you don’t get to see anything. What garbage. I only paid $18 for mine but will be returning it since it’s useless after the trial expires. How you gonna charge $20 for the product then $12 a month to use it? Doesn’t notify for me days at a time about motion events like they never happened. Totally unreliable. Disconnects often too for no reason. Poor quality sound lots of background noise even in quiet environments no wonder it’s on sale for so cheap.

Hi Chasedaniel, Thanks for the feedback about the Blink Mini 2. We always welcome feedback whether good or bad. The camera does record video even if you don't subscribe to the cloud storage. You can view the recording from the notification you get when a motion event occurs, you just can't go back and review it later. The monthly subscription is only $3.00 a month per camera not $11.99 a month. Blink does also offer a subscription free option with the sync module. This allows you to record all video to a USB drive instead. You should be getting notifications for every motion alert detected. If this is not happening i would suggest checking your Wi-Fi connection or contacting Amazon Customer Support. You can reach them 24/7 at 1-888-280-4331.
