Q: what size mattress will this fit?

submitted by Doug - 7 years ago
  • A: A standard crib mattress doesn't necessarily fit. We bought a Serta and it's too narrow. The measurements given on the website are different than the measurements on the actual crib. I would just buy a Babyletto mattress but reviews are pretty bad. Very frustrating

submitted byUnhappy - 5 years ago
  • A: Any standard crib mattress should fit with the Modo Crib.

submitted byThe MDB Family - 7 years ago
    Brand expert
  • A: This crib does not fit the Lullaby Earth mattress, which is within the measurements given for this crib (27.25"). I contacted Babyletto customer service and they said only the Babyletto crib mattresses will fit. They should include this disclaimer when you purchase the product. Very disappointing.

submitted byCarrianne - 4 years ago
  • A: Just a typical crib mattress. Like 52x28"ish

submitted byCami - 7 years ago

Q: Two questions: (1) does it come with the toddler rail? (2) does the Emily (green mattress) fit?

submitted by Alayna - 4 years ago
  • A: Wondering if you were able to use the Emily mattress with this crib? I am looking at this combo.

submitted byE - 3 years ago
  • A: Yes, this crib come with the toddler rail. In terms of mattress size, this crib is a standard size crib, so it will fit any standard size crib mattress which measures at least 27 1/4 inches wide and 51 1/4 inches long.

Q: Can you attach a mobile to this crib?

submitted by Sarah - 5 years ago
  • A: Yes for sure you can!

submitted byThe MDB Family - 5 years ago

  • A: Yes I did attach one on mine!

submitted byAnonymous - 5 years ago

Q: what's the safe mattress size

submitted by Rhino - 6 years ago
  • A: I tried to put a 27.25" mattress in this crib and there is a large gap of at least an inch between the mattress and the crib rails. I do not feel safe putting my infant in this crib with such a large gap. I would recommend a mattress that is at least 28" wide to ensure safety.

submitted byCarrianne - 4 years ago
  • A: This is a standard size crib, so it will fit any standard size crib mattress. The minimum for the standard size is 27 1/4” x 51 5/8” and not being thicker than 6 inches.

submitted byThe MDB Family - 6 years ago

Q: Does this include the conversion kit or would you have to buy it separately?

submitted by CG - 7 years ago
  • A: It includes the rail to make it a toddler bed. You do not need to buy anything new when you convert. It does not convert into a full bed.

submitted byLizzy - 7 years ago
  • A: It comes with the rail you would use to make it a toddler bed instead

submitted byCami - 7 years ago

Q: Would a crib skirt work on this crib?

submitted by CMB - 7 years ago
  • A: Yes, we used a crib skirt with this crib.

submitted byHauserMommy - 7 years ago
  • A: Yes, a crib skirt can be used with this crib.

Q: Does this crib contain MDF?

submitted by Doris111 - 7 years ago
  • A: No, it's 100% solid New Zealand pine wood.. You can look on the Q&A for Babyletto regarding MDF & their products.

submitted byLaurrenH - 7 years ago
  • A: No, it does not contain MDF.

Q: Does the color of this Babyletto Modo Crib match the color of the Babyletto Hudson Dresser in Washed Natural?

very nice crib, agree the natural wood color is a bit off from pictures and more grainy in certain areas. Biggest issue for us so far is the bite marks. Baby is 9 months old and only has top 2 and bottom 2 teeth but has damaged the rails quite a bit and the material has flaked off around his mouth. He is our first baby so not sure if that's normal but would have thought for the price of the crib it might be a bit sturdier to baby teeth...

We used this crib and toddler bed from 5 months to 4 years and 3 months. It was perfect for my son as he grew. We are getting rid of it now as he is going into a big bed, but I recommend this if you want something your baby can use for a long time.

Our crib mattress is 28" wide, as wide as they come, and there's still a 1.5-2" gap along the long side of the mattress. Our son got his hand stuck between the side and the mattress support platform! This is unacceptable

The crib itself arrived in good condition however we purchased the washed natural and it looked nothing like the pictures. Imagine wood that was primed with white paint. It looked way more white and not cohesive. Misleading.

    Toddler conversion doesnt work

    3 out of 5 stars
    CB - 1 year ago
I have the same story as a review in here. The crib has been great. Once my girl turned 2 I went to put the toddler piece on and the wood wasn’t as thick as the normal crib frame so the screw was now too long and it went too far and cracked the frame…. That is poor design. I’m bummed. There’s also no place for a bottom screw to make it more secure. The wood is also pine so it dents and damages easily. The design on top of the wood scratches off easily too. So it’s not the best. But it does look nice and is functional, until you get to toddler mode.

I do love this crib - my son hasn’t actually slept in it yet since we are using the bassinet still. Only complaint is it looks a little pinkish and the warning labels are on the outside and I am afraid if I remove them it will peel the wood.

Arrived super fast & in perfect condition but the color is definitely different than the photo. The washed natural has a pale pink hue to it which is a little different than I wanted. Love the style, wish it was just a little more neutral toned.

I absolutely love this crib! I love how low the mattress can go when they start climbing out, the color is exactly what I wanted, and love the look of the crib in general. We are however, disappointed when we put the toddler railing on, the screws that came with it are too long and ended up cracking the frame of the crib. We were planning on using this for future babies. We have had this crib for 2 years now so we are well past the return window. I would recommend this item if it came with shorter screws for the toddler railing.

I love the look of it. It was pretty easy to put together. My 8-month-old is teething and chipping paint off. I am going to buy a rail guard to cover it. I would not buy it again, but I am not getting rid of it.

    James - 2 years ago
After two years of use the metal mattress support is signifcantly bent, so the mattress is no longer flat. This is not safe! A 30 pound toddler should not be able to bend a crib that is rated up to 50 pounds. I tried contacting the company but they haven't responded after two weeks. Very poor customer service.

I generally love items from Target, this is my first furniture purchase. We chose the washed natural color for a cohesive neautral color. The crib has held up great until recently. We clearly use this item daily, and from placing my babe in and out of the crib, the paint has chipped off and shows an underlining color that is obvious. I purchased this specific crib for the purpose to use the same crib until he is in a big boy bed, but will have to now get a new crib due to the ease of wear on the finish. Dissappointed to say the least. Darker colors may not color change, but keep this in mind.

I should’ve known from a large dent to the box it arrived in, but sadly this crib arrived damaged. Also, standard mattress does not fit nice and snug in the crib, which makes no sense. The color was also misleading from the product photos. I don’t recommend!
