BLACK+DECKER Vitessa Advanced Steam Iron, IR2050

I am really happy with this iron. I have one issue that I have difficulty with. I cannot see the water level even with a flashlight.

The display and manual show two different colours. I wish the product would be made with a lighter contrast colour than the red as it will be hard to see the water level. Other lighter colours and the blue should be no problem. I like the extra set of steam vents.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The iron is a replacement because my first one stop working. This one is way better and much lighter. I love the red color on the iron and it heats up very fast. You won’t be disappointed.

Bought today due to old iron of over 20 years needed replaced, also a Black and Decker. Have used once. First it is hard to see the water level, so overfilled to start with. Miss the Beep my old iron had to advise is ready, but no biggie. Love the narrow tip to get in small areas. With one use the steam is very good. Had some leaking to start, probably due to overfilled or wasn't hot enough. For my first use pleased with features.

It heats up quickly and there is no problem with leaking water all over my clothes, like other steam irons. Using this iron speeds up my ironing jobs quite a bit, which is wonderful. The cord is long and the iron itself seems to be made very well. All in all, this is a great iron that works well and is convenient to use.

Can't get the iron to come back on!!!!! Worked for about six months. Maybe there's a reset feature but I can't find it. The manual says to check and make sure it's plugged into a working outlet. Really, I wouldn't have thought of that!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This one is no exception. They have made some improvements, like the auto-clean option that is GREAT. It gives a steady stream of steam, glides effortlessly across all different fabrics, can be used as an upright garment steamer, but the BEST part is the retractable cord!! I will never again buy an iron without it (hopefully won't have to buy another iron). Definitely recommend this iron!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like this iron and its easy settings, it works great. However the upright steam leaves something to be desired. It's intended use is just for touch ups, but I have not had success with this function, so would not recommend it for this feature. Based on just the iron itself I would recommend it for it's ease of use and job well done.

I received the Black and Decker Vitessa Advanced Steam Iron and my clothes' aggravations are gone! I was able to quickly and efficiently iron my work shirts without wasting time and money going to the dry cleaners. The iron was so easy to use and provided a perfectly iron free shirt. I could iron 15 shirts in the time it would take me to drive to the dry cleaners. I have told everyone about the Black and Decker Vitessa Advanced Steam Iron as it makes my life so much easier!

I especially love the fact that I can have my clothes hanging up and can steam the wrinkles out. No need to constantly bring out the bulky and cumbersome ironing board. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this in exchange for an honest review. I have to say after a really bad start (on my end. I forgot to remove the plastic before turning on) which resulted in some major freaking out and fixing. I don't love this iron very much. It took a very long time to adjust settings just right and iron on some patches to my sons craft apron. Like over an hour. The steam setting made it too wet and then the dry setting (around 4) just didn't get hot enough to adhere the patch. It was frustrating. I hope as it gets used more we figure out all the quirks. I wanted to love this iron but I give it 3 stars. Needs a stronger more intense heat. Also PS don't be an airhead like me and not REMOVE EVERY PIECE OF PACKAGING. I forgot and didn't see the plastic film on the iron part and plugged it right in. Pretty lucky I caught this in time!

My family is very hard on irons and they normally last a couple weeks since they either drop it or use it wrong and melt stuff on the plate. This was sturdy enough that they had to really hold onto it and it is perfect for all the clothing we have tried whether it is all cotton, a blend, poly whatever.

My first impressions after opening the box: Very sleek, love the design, has a steel soleplate, and really long cord! My two favorite things about this iron is that it has a vertical steam feature, can simply iron my husband's uniforms just by hanging on the rack. A little bigger and heavier than my current iron but it is streamlined, modern, and up to date. Love the steam and mist feature (gets wrinkles out of clothes in no time!) Also, love the temperature control. One disadvantage is not being able to see the water level in the water tank through the color of the iron..mine being red. Otherwise, this is a simple and easy iron to use that makes ironing much easier and less of a chore! Fantastic!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this iron! The Vitessa Advanced Steam Iron has great features. It has 6 levels of heat, I use 6 about 95% of the time. I also use the steam feature on jeans and khaki pants(school uniforms). It has a bit of weight to it, which i like. I don't feel like i have to do extra work to get the wrinkles out. The only slight problem i had was water leaking. I think it was from the water-fill lid not being shut tight(my fault). Another thing is that the cord is not very long for my preference. I am sure it is a standard length so you will hv to hv your board close to the outlet. I would recommend this iron, it is the best i have used so far.
