A: Jess: Our Blackout Rounded Curtain Rod can support the stated weights using the following installation methods: (1) 20 pounds when using anchors and screws into drywall; (2) 30 pounds when installed using screws into wood studs. However, we do not recommend using a curtain rod to hand cutting boards, which it isn't designed for. We hope this helps! A: Reenie- To hang blackout curtains AND sheer curtains together, you would need to purchase a double curtain rod vs. a single/standard curtain rod. Alternatively, you can look for a basic white elbow curtain rod. to hang behind the standard curtain rod. These are typically less than $5 and can be found at Target. Thank you.

I really wanted to like this. The hardware that you mount to the wall is plastic… the screws that come with it almost seem to short as the plastic mounting plates are not “snug” as the directions say. Also, due to mounting a rod and heavy blackout curtains, the PLASTIC CHEAP mounting plates basically just rips out of the wall.. regardless if you use a stud finder. This ruined the wall in our BRAND NEW HOUSE.

It is important that the instructions be followed when installing the wall anchors. As with any rod set, wall anchors are needed in order to insure the mounting plate stays in place when installing with a screw. The styrene wall plate is intentionally designed in the material it is in order to provide flexibility with the mounting for non-even walls. We would be happy to send new wall anchors if you wish to reach out again.

Good rod, but not for 66" length

We have this rod installed at several windows. No problem with lengths up to about 54" long. But DO NOT rely on the full 66" length, unless you're ok with quite a bit of sagging (even with no curtains on it). These were installed directly into a wood stud on each each end, so it's not an installation issue. It's poor product quality.

For added support, we recommend using the 66"- 120" rod size available for the Rounded Blackout Curtain, which includes a third bracket for the center of the rod. The curtain rod is sturdy and functional as well as aesthetically pleasing. The price is less than even Amazon with better quality than typical Amazon. There are no snags when pulling the curtain and allows the curtain to open/close smoothly.

Tried to put the third part of the rod in to make it fit our huge window, but the diameter of the rod was off by about ¼ inch. Not sure if all are like this or if we got a bad one but I’m returning it. Too bad! Also, there was some red dusty element on the rod. Very odd. We were able to clean it before it soiled the new curtains though. I had slid them on to the rod to see how it would all look, but alas, the rod won’t work.
