Q: Do they stay on people's ears? My ear holes are too small for airpods or buds.. but since these clip on they would stay secure, right?!

submitted by Monicapie126 - 6 months ago
  • A: Yes! The Bose Ultra Open Earbuds are designed to stay securely in place. They use an innovative open-ear clip design that gently grips the outer part of your ear, rather than sitting inside the ear canal. This makes them comfortable and stable for most ear shapes and sizes, even if traditional earbuds or AirPods don’t fit well for you.

  • A: I have the same issue! I used to love my jabra high-end earbuds because they were able to stay in my super tiny ear canals - but since jabra isn't in the earbud game anymore, and the few remaining pairs available aren't the higher-end quality I want, I've had to expand my options. I got these for Christmas and while the open ear style took a bit of getting used to, I think I like them more than in-ear styles now! It does come with the downside that they don't block sound the way traditional over-ear or in-ear do, but they stay put like a dream! It makes them great for wearing in public if I want to still be aware of my surroundings, or if I just need to block out some of the "people noise" to calm my anxiety over crowds - and I get compliments on them all the time because they look like pretty ear cuffs :) I'm very happy with them!

Q: How is the audio on calls?

submitted by MShep18 - 7 months ago
  • A: I got these for Christmas and have only taken a few calls, but I hope I can help: it seems to be good quality on my end wearing the earbuds, but people don't seem to be able to hear me particularly well. I don't tend to take many calls, and the ones I've taken are often from my mother who struggles to hear on the phone anyways, but my father doesn't and even he had a hard time hearing me through these the one time I called him using these.

Q: Is the silicone white or grey?

submitted by MC - 8 months ago
  • A: It's not a classic white, it's like white with a grey tone, so not classic white but not full grey either, more mixed. They are really really nice.

    submitted byVictoria8310 - 8 months ago
  • A: The Bose x Kendra Scott Ultra Open Earbuds in Gold Filigree feature a white silicone grip that rests gently on the ear, paired with gold decorative accents.

Q: Is the part that goes in your ear hard plastic (it looks like it) or soft/flexible silicon?

submitted by G - 8 months ago
  • A: The inside piece is a hard smooth plastic but it is very comfortable, you don't even feel it because of the way it sits on the ear.

    submitted byVictoria8310 - 8 months ago
  • A: The Bose x Kendra Scott Ultra Open Earbuds do not use soft silicone tips like traditional in‑ear headphones. Instead, they feature a firm, clip‑on design made of hard plastic with decorative metallic accents, created to rest gently on the outside of your ear rather than going inside the ear canal. This open‑ear style allows you to enjoy your music while still being aware of your surroundings, and Bose emphasizes that the lightweight build makes them comfortable for all‑day wear.

Q: Are the good to take calls, I take a lot of work calls ? I currently have AirPods?

submitted by Sunny day - 2 months ago
  • A: The Bose Ultra Open Earbuds can be used for calls and are designed with open‑ear comfort in mind. They deliver clear voice quality and let you stay aware of your surroundings while on calls. Because they don’t fully seal in your ear, performance may feel different depending on your environment and personal preference.

Q: It doesn’t mention having {ANC} Or noise cancellation , are these good at canceling out background noises ?

submitted by Mother Earth7811 - 4 months ago
  • A: The Bose Ultra Open Earbuds do not have Active Noise Cancellation. They’re designed with an open-ear cuff style and Bose’s OpenAudio technology, which means they intentionally let in surrounding sounds so you can stay aware of your environment while listening to music. If you’re looking for earbuds that cancel out noise, the Bose QuietComfort series would be a better fit.

Q: If you wear hearing aides, can you use these with them?

submitted by DLF - 6 months ago
  • A: Hi there, if you wear hearing aids, you can still use the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds. Thanks to it's open‑ear design, they are generally compatible with most hearing aid types. However, comfort and performance may vary depending on your specific device. For the best experience, we recommend trying them in person, so you can ensure they work well with your setup.

Q: What is the charger life of the airpods?

submitted by SDK - 6 months ago
  • A: We appreciate your preference for Bose. In stereo mode, the Ultra Open Earbuds provide up to 7 hours of playtime or 48 hours of standby time with no audio playing. For all-day use, which involves a mix of audio listening and standby, the battery life will vary depending on the ratio of each. For example, if you listen to audio for 5 hours, you'll still have up to 10 hours of standby time remaining. If the battery runs low, a quick 10-minute charge in the case will give you up to 2 hours of playtime. The earbud take about 1 hour to fully charge, while the charging case requires approximately 3 hours for a full charge. Gloria - Bose Customer Support

    Needed a free trial

I wish there was a free trial period where I could have tried them out and returned them if they didn't work. They're very stylish looking. The sound is great. Unfortunately, just like in the ear earbuds, these start to hurt my ears after about 1.5 hours. Also, I have small children and I thought these would be great to still be able to hear them while I listened to audiobooks. But it turns out that the children are so loud I cannot hear my audiobooks or concentrate on them even when the volume is turned way up! These earbuds good when I'm alone and only listening for 30 minutes or so. Otherwise these were not for me. But five stars for style.

We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the style and sound quality of the earbuds, but we’re truly sorry to learn they caused discomfort after extended use and didn’t meet your needs in a busy environment with children. Good earbuds

I'm happy with my bose ultra open earbuds; they are comfortable and don't fall out. They have good sound, although some external noise does leak in because of their open design.

    Meh

I bought these because the Samsung live buds are no longer manufactured. I liked the open ear concept but I also liked the fit. Unfortunately the only downfall I have is that when I am on a phone call it is very hard for people to hear me. People say it sounds like I am far away and they can hear a lot of my background noise which with my Live buds that was never an issue. For as much as I use them to make phone calls I am really thinking about returning these as they would not be good for the gym which is where I took my Live buds and brought these to work.

Hello! Thank you for sharing your feedback, we’re glad you like the open-ear design, but we’re sorry to hear about the call quality concerns. The Bose Ultra Open Earbuds have two microphones in each earbud, and properly wearing them can greatly improve call quality performance. Blocked microphones may cause poor sound quality for the listener on the other end of the call. Please ensure the microphones are not obstructed by headwear and that the earbuds are positioned correctly on each ear. Disappointing overall.

I purchased my Bose open earbuds about a month ago and the experience is an overall disappointment. On the plus side, the sound quality is great, particularly when listening to music Also positive is that they are extremely comfortable to wear even if they are a bit clumsy to put on and situate correctly. On the down side 1) the microphone is very poor and every ambient sound affects it. People cannot hear me much of the time or it fades in and out. I have to be completely stationary in a quiet room for them to work. I mostly have to switch to my speaker on the phone. I would not have purchased these had I known it would be this bad 2) a charge does not last the whole day. They quit about 9 hours into the day. Those are the primary things and they are truly annoying. I cannot recommend the product except to listen to podcasts and music.

    Excellent sound and comfort

When I bought the Ultra Earbuds from Bose, I was a little apprehensive about the sound quality. Being open the way they are I thought it would make the sound less clear than my quiet comfort buds. Bose came through again with fantastic sound in a very comfortable fit.

    Good Product

I wanted to use these while at work, I work in an office- 8 hours a day. I have sensitive ears and have found while at first the pressure is not noticeable, after extended use I do feel the pressure on my ears and have to take them off before the end of my work day of 8 hours. I found it slightly awkward to answer my physical work phone with them in my ears- they made 'clicking' noises when I moved the phone around. The metal/plastic of the earbuds touching the plastic of the phone. When I paused what I was listening to, to speak to someone or to answer my work phone, if it was a time more than I think two minutes, I would click the button and it would not return to what I was listening to. I would have to go to my phone to un-pause it, and then it would return. The sound quality is great- indoors and outdoors. I go on daily walks and found it very pleasant to listen to. I realize many of the things I bring up are more of my preference, but thought I should bring up. I still believe them to be a quality product.

Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful and balanced review, We’re glad to hear that the sound quality indoors and outdoors met your expectations, especially during your daily walks. That’s exactly the kind of versatility these earbuds are designed for. Your point about the earbuds making clicking noises against a work phone and the need to manually un-pause after a couple of minutes is especially useful. To help you with the Ultra Open Earbuds here is a helpful guide and a link for the connection of your Earbuds: If you have sensitive ears, try adjusting the earbuds slightly higher or lower on the outer ear rather than letting them rest in the same spot all day. Small repositioning every couple of hours can reduce pressure buildup. You might also consider short listening breaks (5–10 minutes) during your workday to relieve ear fatigue without losing productivity. https://bose.life/3Rp0EdR We’re grateful that despite these challenges, you still consider them a quality product. Feedback like yours helps us refine future designs and features to better serve both casual and professional listeners. Gem - Customer Support

Great Product…. I just wish my ear fit them.

The idea and the functionality of the earbuds are really good. The sound and how they describe interactions is right on the point. The only issue I have is with the thickness of the wraparound below your ear. Since I have a little bit larger ear than normal, it didn’t fit me properly, which caused issues with the performance. I still recommend them for everyone and it’s a great product.

    Function without sacrifice

Bought a few weeks ago on a bit of a whim. Always had a fondness of Bose products, mainly because of their sound, ergonomics & longevity. I feel even though premium, they offer fantastic value for money. I also have a set of QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds II - so these felt excessive, but I use earphones most days & I felt these serve a very different purpose. These don't have the sound quality of the Earbuds (I had one first gen & the second are a huge step up in terms of design & audio performance), but they are a very good functional alternative. How the sound engineers have managed to get them to sound like they do is beyond me. I use these for short train journeys, commuting, days when the office is busy, jobs around the house & dog walks & then my Earbuds for longer train journeys, the gym & when I don't need to hear my ambient surroundings. My top tip is follow the fitting carefully & then the important bit - move downwards so the speaker is as close to the ear canal as possible. They do feel like they'll fall out - it is very odd, but so far they haven't come out at all - including on a quick 6 mile run. Was wanting to hate these but ended up loving them! Unfortunately feel like I need to finish the collection now with the new Ultra Headphones II!:)

    (no review title)

I bought these a month ago and they feel great, the way they fit around my ear is fantastic. That being said, using them on an airplane isn't the best choice with all the background noise. I already have another in-ear old style set of Bose earbuds with the curved shaped insert for the ear that sounds great, the only problem was keeping them in my ears. I am going to try the new style in-ear Bose ear buds and hopefully three is the charm. Kelly M. Las Vegas, NV.

    Could improve the call quality

After using this for a nonth, though I find the sound quality excellent for all kinds of music, I find these lack the ability to carry my voice in a call. I have tried all suggestions including the 45 degree one to no avail. Wish Bose releases a new firmware to rectify this otherwise excellent comfortable earphones

Great for music/Not so great for taking calls...

So this is the second pair I've purchased....my pair was specifically purchased for the gym. My partner saw them and wanted a pair too. So I bought the second pair which they use hands free mostly and to listen to music...taken calls is not very good, it's delayed and you have to constantly repeat yourself as the person on the other end can't hear you very well. It is very disruptive to that end but for listening to music it is fab. Is there any advise to improve the calls quality?

Hi Nina, thank you so much for your continued support, we truly appreciate you choosing a second pair of Ultra Open Earbuds, and we’re glad to hear you’re enjoying them for music! We’re sorry to hear about your experience with call quality, as we know how important that is for hands-free use. The Ultra Open Earbuds are designed with an open-ear concept to help you stay aware of your surroundings. Because of this design, the microphones rely on proper fit and positioning for the best voice pickup. Call quality can also vary depending on your environment, fit, and device compatibility. We recommend double-checking the fit, ensuring the earbuds are worn correctly, and confirming they are selected as the active microphone during calls.
