Q: Can you use stainless steel pots and pans on this ?

A: Pots must be magnetic (contain iron) to work with induction. Stainless itself doesn't have enough iron to work with induction. To test a pot, you can check if a magnet sticks to the bottom. It has to have a fairly strong attraction.

Stay Away - Fire Hazard

This item stated making some popping sounds while on the highest settings and then stopped working after only 4 uses. Target accepted the return without issue. Thinking that i just had a bad unit, I ordered the same item a second time. This time it spewed thick smoke into my apartment! What would have happened if I hadn't come back into the kitchen at that moment? Do not buy this product unless you want your home to catch fire.
