Grind activation switch stopped working. Not happy with resolution by Breville. Expected better for the cost. Review keeps being moderated. Lost a customer.

Bought one that came in just yesterday, grinder refuses to grind fine and the gear to select grounds was incredibly hard to turn. The machine also refused to pour any coffee.

I’ve tried other semi-automatic espresso machine at lower prices points and have never been impressed. This machine was on sale so I went for a splurge! I absolutely love this machine! Easy to move from grinding, brewing and frothing! Use it twice a day and my guests are impressed too! Highly recommend!

DO NOT BUY. What was once a wonderful company has turned into a SCAM. The Breville representatives claim their machines have a lifespan of 7–10 years; however, BEWARE: THE MACHINE WILL BREAK in about 2–3 years. At that point, you will be left with an expired warranty and be out $1,000 for the machine. If you manage to get a representative to offer a courtesy repair service, please be warned: THEY DO NOT GUARANTEE THEY WILL FIX MACHINES AFTER THE CUSTOMER SENDS THEM IN FOR SERVICE—MINDBLOWING. After sending my machine in for repair, it had the same problems upon unboxing. When notifying Breville of the issue, they claim that Breville does not promise to fix problems while the machine is in service (Why send it in then?). Most importantly, please be warned that the seals in the machine frequently go bad, leading to reduced pressure and an inability to pull shots. Additionally, as shared by their representative, the grinder has a known issue of breaking, rendering the machine unusable. The problem is so severe that some Breville machines now use grinders from a third party. While I used to love and recommend the service and quality of Breville, the company has become extremely slimy, and you should beware. It is unjust to take customers' machines for service and return them with the same problems. Repsonding to the complaint with "too bad" and leaving the customer with a falsely serviced machine is grossly inappropriate. I WOULD HIGHLY ADVISE STEERING CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY UNLESS THERE IS A CHANGE IN CUSTOMER SERVICE & QUALITY.

This machine is so easy to use. It talks you through each step. It tells you how to make the necessary adjustments, if needed. I would recommend this machine for people new to home espresso. My mother has a Breville; however this model is so much easier to use!

I thought the instructions for making cappuccino were not clear. 1. The instruction book doesn’t tell us how to combine the ground coffee and the textured milk. It seems rather obvious (and now is) to grind the coffee and then place the jug of textured milk under the Group Head, but it did take a while to figure that out. 2. The book says to fill the milk jug “to below the spout position.” But the jug has a “max” line. That seems inconsistent. 3. Also it would be helpful if the max and min lines were inside the jug not on the outside of the (non-transparent) jug.

First espresso machine of this caliber and no regrets! Its easy to dial in your perfect cup of coffee. Needed to review lots of YouTube videos for the proper grind and pressing the puck but after that it was easy going. Its fun trying different styles of coffees. Now only if this thing could automatically make the artwork out of the frothy milk.

This Breville is relatively easy to use and produces great espresso. The touch screen makes it easy to select the desired coffee type and the milk foaming arm automatically produces perfect milk for our cappuccino. And no pods to buy and recycle! We are very happy with our Breville!

I'd give five stars, for when it was working properly, but one star for how quickly it stopped working. I used it daily for two and a half years, and I was very happy with everything. But then the programming function broke, and by then the machine was out of warranty. It still works well as an espresso machine, but I don't have any of the features that I paid a few hundred extra for. Breville did offer a discount off the purchase of a new machine, which I thought was very nice, but I don't feel good about spending so much again and risking another malfunction.

The machine was beautiful and easy to use. However, if you start to brew multiple cups of coffee for a group of people, the machine seems hard to keep up with consistent pressur and flow. Also, the On/Of button start to not working (machine can't turn on) after ~30 days of usage. I would have to unplug the machine many times.

It is true that since the machine isn't made for commercial use, depending upon the number of people, you may need to make sure to do additional steps between shots, like purging, adjusting the grind size, and perhaps even changing filters.
