great product but not the smoothest
Overall works great and produces quality espresso shots. The only thing that I don't like about the machine is it is super light move when I am trying to insert or remove portafilter. I have to hold down machine now to pull shot. May need to look into giving bottom of machine more grip. Would recommend unless you have mobility challenges as this could be more difficult than other machines.

Use the dual Wall basket, it makes a huge difference
My husband gifted me this machine, initially I was NOT impressed...BUT I started using the dual wall double shot basket for ALL my shots (I grind my own beans with a burr grinder), and it changed the game. I get perfect pulls each time with the dual wall cup, and it uses less coffee (I use 14g instead of 18g). I also tamp very lightly, then use a wire (wdt) tool to break it up, then tamp (workout pressure) to smooth the surface. Works everytime. This may seem tedious, but it's the same amount of work I was putting in with the single walled cup, and the results were infuriating.

Powerful despite its size
Honestly, this thing is impressive. Not only does it pull good shots, it also has a super strong steamer. I think it’s stronger than the barista express I used to own. If you’re thinking of buying this just pull the trigger. You won’t be disappointed as long as you have a good grinder to pair it with.

Coffee is best homemade
My husband and I absolutely love this machine. We get to make barista level coffee’s at home every day. I rarely buy coffee at a coffee shop anymore. The only thing I would change would be the quality of the items that come with it. The tamper is cheap and plastic. These machines cost an arm and a leg. The least they could do is provide quality add-on items.

A money saver!!
As a former barista, this is a must have! It’s not quite the same level of greatness as a coffee shop espresso, but it’s definitely great enough for an at home latte! It’s saved me so much money to just make one at home than to go out and fetch one from a local cafe everyday! I just buy local espressos ground coffee! Love it.

Great Beginner Espresso Machine
I'm new to espresso making, Got this to experiment and learn the espresso making. So far this holds up great. Its compact but powerful. Get a legit tamper you are good to go. Would recommend for beginners.

Does not work out of the box
I got this as a gift and it will not go into 2 cup mode. Followed all the instructions. Will not work. We are lucky and can take it back and get a different brand. What a waste of time.

We bought this so we could have an espresso maker wherever we go. The size is perfect and the quality is just as good as the barista that we have also from Breville we bring it to hotels we bring it to friends houses we even bring it to picnics

I was looking for coffee espresso machine Breville stainless steel espresso but I don’t want nothing big on my kitchen counter I was looking for something easy to make my own espresso coffee at home I decided to buy this one I though it was the best decision but it wasn’t is not sturdy when I try to put the coffee holder in the machine it gave me too much hard time to connected and do my coffee I have to hold the machine to adjusted in the right place I don’t know it was defected item , but for me is waisted time and money so I decided to returned to store and start to looking for better one

This machine works great, and pulls great shots for me. The reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that some pieces of this machine do not feel as luxurious as other Breville models I have used. The portafilter appears to be aluminum, and doesn't have the heft and feel of the more expensive models. I have found no reference to the portafilter being aluminum on the description online when you purchase, and I wasn't able to find that specification referenced anywhere on the exterior of the packaging, only on assembly paperwork once the box is opened. Steam wand may also be aluminum, but I'm not certain. I do appreciate the size of this item, and again, still makes grear coffee, just the same level of user experience I have come to associate with Breville.

Horrible purchase
Purchased two times in 3 months. Both times stopped pulling shots. Target needs to stop selling products that have been returned. Breville needs to recall these machines we are spending a lot of money.
