Although listed as unscented, these have a terrible odor. They smell as if they’re moldy and fermented. They are also supposedly meant for sensitive skin, but caused intense stinging around my eyes. Additionally, the package states that the cotton is recycled and not to worry if there are “colorful flecks” in the wipes, however these “flecks” are not spots of color in the wipes, but there was actual debris on the wipes which come off when pulled and could get in your eyes while removing makeup. I’m all for recycled products and usually would love this, but the execution here is terrible and honestly it looks like bug poop to me. I love the rose micellar version of these wipes and was excited to try these wipes as I have sensitive skin and usually prefer unscented products, but these were a painful disappointment. DO NOT BUY.

It did remove most of the makeup except my waterproof liner. They feel moist when applying, and my skin has been sensitive lately with the weather, but these didn't feel any harmful or stinging on my skin.

They don’t take makeup off as easily as the one big brand name with the light blue packaging, but it’s because these are meant to be gentle and non drying. It doesn’t wipe my eye makeup off as effectively as micellar water but I did like the way it made my face feel cleaner without drying it out. It didn’t tingle like some other makeup wipes I used in the past (I have sensitive skin). The cotton is recycled/repurposed, and home compostable, which I personally am very happy about. Just a note, because of this, the wipes had a few flecks here and there and it wasn’t stark white, but it doesn’t affect the functionality. I would purchase this again, but instead of for makeup removal, I would use it during the day, or maybe after the gym as a freshening up wipe.

As far as taking makeup off though, it’s not the best makeup wipe I’ve tried. It takes a few passes to get the same effect as other brands. In general though, these are nice if you want to clean your face and get the benefits of aloe vera. I imagine they would be ideal for sunburnt skin!

I still followed it up with a cleanser but it worked well to remove a lot of the product on my skin. The wipes weren’t irritating at all which is a big plus for me! It’s not usually until the third round that it comes out clean but I also hate the small fibers that come loose and irritate my eyes. After trying these sensitive facial cleansing towelettes, I am hooked! They are thick and so durable that it almost has the feel of the softest washcloth! Actually, what I most expected to learn is that Burt’s Bees repurposes cotton t-shirts to make these and almost that alone won me over! Formulated for sensitive skin, they contain aloe and rice milk which moisturizes and soothes with no need to rinse. They are fragrance-free and hypoallergenic and are dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested! The scent is very light, almost no scent at all, and they make my skin feel amazing afterwards. Move over cotton rounds, I’ve found a new favorite!
