Q: After extending the rod to the full length, can I tighten the middle so that it doesn't extend any more? Otherwise, when I pull my curtains open/closed, the rod just keeps pulling out.

Q: If we want to use sheers along with drapes will we need a separate curtain rod in order to open and close drapes?
A: Hi Kat, You can use sheers and a curtain both on a single rod. However, some people tend to prefer a double shower rod instead just because it's less hassle to replace/move when you have two rods in one. The only thing to be aware of is that a café rod is best suited for lightweight curtains. Hope this helps!

Q: Will it require a center bracket if you extend this curtain rod to around 80 inches?

Q: Can you join two rods together to extend it longer

We do not recommend inserting additional Poles in this Rod, adding extra Poles will cause the Rod to bow, This size Rod is manufactured to extend from 28-48". We do carry a longer size in the Rod in size 48-84" Please check on Target website.
