Q: Does this item come frozen?

submitted by Ann - 5 months ago
  • A: I've never seen it in the freezer here in Tacoma (just Udis). I wish that it was, that way it might be more readily available. In Southern California all the stores keep it in the freezer.

submitted byVicky - 1 month ago
  • A: Hi. Thanks for reaching out. Yes, our Canyon Gluten Free Mountain White bread is part of our frozen line.

Q: What is the difference between Country White and Mountain White Canyon Bakehouse brands?

submitted by Mare - 2 years ago
  • A: I believe the Mountain white is made without Canola oil which the other products are.

submitted bychrstncmk - 2 years ago
  • A: Hello! Our Mountain White and Country White breads are very similar in taste but the main difference is how they are packaged. Our Mountain White is an 18oz loaf sold in the freezer. Our Country White bread is a 15oz loaf sold in our “Stay-Fresh” packaging which allows us to store it on shelf without the need to freeze. It’s primarily a preference on where you shop for gluten free products!

Q: where is this located in the store? i went there specifically for it today and only found Udi's in the frozen section and could not find it or a location where it looked like it would've been. thanks!

submitted by aw - 5 years ago
  • A: Every Target is different, but at my Target, it's in the produce section near other baked goods. They don't keep it frozen. I take it home and freeze extra loaves and haven't had an issue with spoilage yet.

submitted bykj - 4 years ago
  • A: They don't keep in the freezer or the bread area, which is weird. (When it's available) It's located with a few select baked goods in the middle of the aisle where the refrigerated snack foods are.

Q: Is this bread free from corn derivatives?

submitted by Liz - 5 months ago
  • A: Hi there! Thank you for reaching out! Our products do not contain corn and are made on dedicated corn free lines.

    Not for me

2 stars for good texture but flavor is lacking. I love Trader Joe’s gluten free bread and this is nowhere near as good. Maybe “white bread” is supposed to be flavorless? I used to eat wheat bread so maybe I’m just used to much more flavor in my breads. I won’t be finishing this loaf.

Toasted is the Way to Go!

After being diagnosed recently with Celiac and having tried different brands of bread, I can say that Canyon Bakehouse makes an excellent bread, especially when toasted. So happy that this product is available at local grocery stores.

    Best bread ever!

Love this bread! Makes the best toast, Pb&j's, the options are endless and great ingredients too. Love the use of EVOO instead of canola oil.

    Laughable

If I could give this zero stars I would. I have bought this bread many times and it is always so dry. The pieces are so small so cutting crust off for the kids it makes it the worlds smallest sandwhich. On top of that this last loaf each piece was missing the bread. I actually laughed at loud when I saw it. Some pieces were actually missing half the bread.

    Expensive but good

Docking a star because it’s so dang expensive. Why punish gluten-free people in the pocketbook when they already have to eat items that don’t taste as good as what they are used to?? Sheesh. Give them a break for once. Okay. That said, my husband does like this bread. Doesn’t seem to bother his sensitive stomach. It freezes well too, so I usually have a backup loaf on hand. Just wish I didn’t have to pay an arm and a leg for a load of bread that is half the normal size.

    Good

My daughter has been GF for about 3 years and said this bread made her “feel like her old self.” I tried it myself and it was really delicious for being gluten-free. So far the best one we’ve tried.

Great bread, bakery needs more workers

This is a great GF bread, at a good price. Unfortunately, my store in Dallas doesn’t seem to be able to keep it in stock. If someone is working in bakery, I have to ask them to go to the freezer and get it; but there’s rarely anyone working that department. Wish they’d just unpack their delivery and stock it.

    Not The Best Choice

There are other far superior tasting gluten free breads available. Canyons flat flavor leaves much to be desired comparatively

I never leave reviews but…this was so gross. I took one bite and threw the bag away. It crumbled and was grainy…just really not good.

    Dry, hard and TINY!

Dry and hard!! I buy gluten-free bread for less than four dollars, which is twice the size and 100% of the softness.

This bread was so helpful for my GF journey!

This bread was definitely a highlight of being GF. I've been GF since I was 4, and this is the best bread that I had since then. It goes well as toast, a sandwich, a substitute for a bun, and more! Thank you Canyon Bakery for this delicious discovery!

No potato starch - so important!

The Mountain White does not contain potato starch for which I am so grateful. It is very difficult to find gluten free breads without it. Potatoes are a nightshade and very triggering for my son's autoimmune disease.

    Always stale

This brand's bread always feels stale. Reminds me of the early brands of gluten free bread that felt like you were biting into a dry sponge.
