Q: Does this act as a hydrating moisturizer, as in I could apply this after cleansing? If not, are there any mineral based products that hydrate, contains spf 30 (or above), and doesn’t leave white marks (unless it fades) for my skin?

A: hi! I definitely am not an expert, but I would use this product after my normal moisturizer & cleanser. I think that this is typically for sun protection rather than moisturizing. or, you could use the Purito comfy water sun block SPF 50 for $15. I've heard really good reviews on it, it is fragrance-free and super lightweight, matte and doesn't leave white cast :)

Love the ingredients and application. Great product, great company, and great concept. Only drawback is, the sunscreen turns your face white. The sunscreen doesn't soak in. It's pretty bad. I'll try it again but on first application, not good. Maybe I'll use less as I apply it?

I really thought this sunscreen might be the best option because it had minerals, niacinamides and was advertised as very light weight. The moment I applied it I was so shocked. It literally leaves a white caste as thought I’ve applied a white paint on my face, my face feels very stretchy, dry and cheap. I never expected something like this from Cerave. I’ve lost my trust.

Left my face sooo white. It’s so expensive for the amount and at the end of the day, it ruins your face leaving you with an obvious white cast no matter how much you use.

I love almost all Cerave products so was excited to try this one, however the product is so difficult to blend in. It pills when I rub it in and it still doesn’t blend when I pat it down. It gets stuck in my hair and I can’t get it out either. I got a chemical burn from my other skin care product because this sunscreen did not protect my face as it was not blended properly.

Unfortunately not hydrating at all, hard to blend even when patting instead of rubbing and leaves a white cast on even me (I'm very pale) made my eczema worse, had to wash off and start over. Would not recommend to anyone with dry skin, eczema, or dark skin. Disappointing as I love all their other products, will stick with my korean sunscreens

It is so hard in applying it's pasty and messed up my skincare. The tinted one has great consistency but I regret buying this one. I bought this one to mix with tinted one to get a better shade and it doesn't mix with that too. Ni didn't want to mix CeraVe tinted with neurogena sheeer sunscreen because two different kind of sunscreen better to mix with same brand but this is the only one product I didn't like from CeraVe otherwise I am a CeraVe fan since ages

This sunscreen is so thick that it piles up. It is not at all blendable. More. than anything, it leaves the worst white cast I have ever seen. It make my face look ghoulish. As a POC this was a terrible choice, this one was not for my skin, personally.

Okay, I love some things about this product but maybe I don't like so much others. First, I love the hidratatation sentation on my skin when I use this sunscreen. Second, I sweat a lot, but this product it last a lot in my face, and third, I really hate the white cast :( i have medium skin tone, and when I use this under my makeup look too bad.

I just purchased a few weeks ago and wore the sunscreen twice in a row and immediately developed the worst breakout I have had in my adult life thus far. Almost every pore on my forehead, cheeks, and chin was clogged for about two weeks while I worked to reverse the damage. I’ve used the CeraVe daily moisturizing lotion consistently for over a decade with no issues but would advise against using this spf.

The product works nicely, I typically will not get sunburnt when using this sunscreen. So it works very well! You will be protected from the sun. It does have a pretty heavy cast but this is typical with mineral sunscreens. I have used others that I prefer that seem to blend in easier than this one. This one might just work the best for my skin but it does not feel moisturizing to my skin and often times it highlights dryer areas and will flake off. Recently, even after blending in, it will flake off or get smudged around my eyes and look really awkward. I can't wear it under any makeup or the same thing would happen. Overall, does the job of sun protection and has really good ingredients like niacinamide, but the appearance and application gets a no from me. I'll use up my current tube, but I don't plan to repurchase.
