Q: Would I be able to use this straightener on the lowest setting of 180 degrees? I've never used a straightener so I don't want to use a high temp.

A: 180 degrees smooth's out my fine, dry shoulder length hair at that setting and even at 240 degrees. If you don't want to go to a higher temp, you don't have to.

I have super thick, wavy hair. My old cheap flat iron would take me 35-40 minutes to straighten my hair, on the hottest setting, and I would have to do the tiniest sections. This one took me 20 minutes on the lowest heat setting. I can’t believe I’ve been struggling with cheap flat irons my whole life when I could’ve splurged and gotten one like this! If you straighten your hair a lot, do yourself a favor and get it!

This is not a tourmaline flat iron. The product pictured and received is a ceramic, not ceramic tourmaline. I specifically wanted the one with tourmaline. But I’m keeping it because I did a bit more research on basic ceramic vs tourmaline. But this product being offered is not as described. The description also mentions “Chi Air” which this is not. This the a Chi Original Ceramic iron with a digit temperature control.

This straightener is phenomenal! And I now understand that not all straighteners indeed do the same thing. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because one feature I wish it had is an auto shut off ability, although I see that the upgrades of this version do come with that setting.
