A: Swc, The model you reference, the CD81W, has a ¾-inch barrel. This item, model CD87GNR, has the same base but has a 1-inch barrel. In other words the models are very similar but not identical.

A: Yes! I've used it summer 2017 in France without any problems. If you plan to use it in Europe, you'll just have to buy a plug adapter because their outlets don't accept this plug.

It's a basic iron that does the job. However, what I dislike is that I noticed the temp fluctuates causing you to need to turn off and back on. The tip and the stand get really hot as well. It was used for my daughters hair, medium length and average thickness.

I tried on all settings, holding it for longer periods of time, using the turbo and this didn’t hold a curl in my hair at all the curls didn’t last longer than 2 minutes without falling out. I have pretty thick hair but my old curling iron would keep curls in my hair on a medium setting for days.

For my thin hair babes — THIS WORKS. I’m not sure what the other people who reviewed saying it didn’t work for their thin hair were doing wrong but my style held up with no product other than a heat protectant. I took a nap, rode in the car with the windows down, and constantly played with it and my style still looked incredible. For the price of this curling iron, you absolutely cannot beat this. Buy it.
