Summary of reviews
The 7-quart manual crock pot slow cooker receives mixed feedback, with many guests appreciating its simplicity, ample size, and ease of use for preparing large meals. However, some guests report issues with the lid fit, excessive heat on the exterior, and cooking temperatures being too high, leading to overcooked meals. Despite these concerns, its budget-friendly price and the convenience of set-it-and-forget-it cooking make it a popular choice for busy individuals looking to make hearty, home-cooked meals.

Although this pot can get the job done, the outside gets dangerously hot. It’s also very lightweight, making it easy to twist and dent. I regret buying this cooker.

I have one from 1982 that still works. This one is reliable until it is not. It randomly died after 5 years. Kind of disappointing.

I received this item as a gift for our wedding. This is only the second time that I used it and the entire porcelain basin completely exploded. The whole bottom came out of it. It was on low for only about 2 hours when it exploded. Thank god I was home.

Cheap and unstable

I've owned and loved Crock Pot brand my entire life. I bought this one as it appeared similar to one I had that was old. The crock doesn't fit well in the base, it shifts around. The base has only 3 little rubber feet, not 4, and it does not sit stable on the counter. It rocks while stirring, and nearly tips on it's side. The base itself is also not resistant at all. I can push in the sides with no effort at all. Cheap, not durable, unstable, unsafe. Very disappointed.

Purchased one in store and the crock was chipped, returned. Purchased another in store and the crock had scratches on inside of crock. Called Crock pot company and asked if it was safe to use, told no and return to store.

I’ve had several of this crock pot brand and they’ve always been fine. I got this out, washed it and filled it with ingredients and left for the day. Got home and it never got warm. Waste of money for all my dinner ingredients and the crock pot itself.

Love this model over more expensive and upgraded versions. I first bought a non stick programmable version and it was awful. The pot actually cracked on first use and began leaking out of the bottom. Had no clue until it began burning. I returned it for this model and it is hands down the best. Easy to clean and won’t crack.
Need to fix design

I want to love it, but instead I'll say that I like it. This rating is particularly due to a design flaw that, if fixed, will propel it up to really like and maybe even love. The curve of the rim of the black ceramic pot allows drips that fall onto it to travel from top of the rim to bottom and then in between the black pot and the heating unit. From there they run down the inside of the heating unit until they reach its bottom where they blacken from the heat and cause more cleanup. Simply using a ladle for soup while the black pot is still in the heating unit results in this if any drops touch the rim of the black pot. Whoosh, they go right around the rim and in between the hot heating unit and the black pot and start to sizzle and burn. Looking at the two vessels together one would think the black pot's rim would prevent this due to a slight overhang, but it doesn't. I'm really careful, and it still happens. The inside of the heating unit is not as easy to clean as the black pot, and I'm quite tired of cleaning it. The inside of the heating unit stains easily too.

Have had this for a few months. It gets EXTREMELY HOT. I went to move it and it burned me. Proceed with caution. Also, the wording for “off, low, high, warm” wipe right off. So make sure to keep a mental note on which one you’re switching over to

The outside of this crockpot gets so hot to touch it could be dangerous. I liked to use my old one in the summer to keep the kitchen cool, you may as well cook on the stove from the heat this one produces. Sorry I bought it.

Bought to cook a large roast. It wasn't until I was ready to turn it on that I realized the lid did not fit. It rests on the small ends, but there is a 1/4" gap on each side. Covered with a t-towel to help keep some of the steam inside. Disappointed. Cooks well, but lid is narrow and lets heat/steam escape way too much.

Cooks WAY too fast! Ruined several different meals because the meat was always overdone. If it said cook for 6-8 hours on low, it was awful. Next time I checked at 3 hours and it was still 10 degrees over the recommended temperature. Don’t buy!!

Great price for a big crockpot. Works as it should was manual but I don’t need all the fancy stuff. Bonus that you can put it in the oven. Great price from target!

Cooks too fast! All the crockpots I’ve had cook perfectly in 8 hours on low. We have ruined multiple dinners because after 4-5 hours on low the meat is overcooked, let alone eatable after 8 hours. Extremely disappointing. Would never recommend.
Simple 7-Quart Crock Pot is a 5-Star Gem

Simple 7-Quart Crock Pot is a 5-Star Gem. This is my first Crock Pot, although I have enjoyed food prepared in similar Crock Pots by family and friends for many decades. I required the simplicity and cooking capacity of this unit for my purposes, and wanted to be able to prepare enough food to provide several great meals, including leftovers that I could reheat in my microwave. I just used my new Crock Pot on Easter Sunday 2024. I cooked 4.39 pounds of country-style pork "ribs" with some bones in some of them. I used a great dry rub that I recently purchased, an insulating felt/heat-tolerant pad between the Crock Pot and my countertop, and Reynolds heat-tolerant regular-sized plastic bags designed for use with 3- to 8-quart slow cookers. Cooked the "ribs" on high for 6 hours. They came out so well! Super tender and juicy. The meat truly just fell off the bone. Incredibly easy from prep to cooking to clean up. The Reynolds bags are a tremendous asset. I highly recommend this budget-friendly marvel. I expect it to last me for several years, and it may well outlast me.

Horrible! I had a Hamilton slow cooker before and it was a really good one. My chicken been in this pot for 5 hours on high and still not fully cooked. I guess pizza for dinner now. Not happy.
