Q: Why is my ice cream texture like soup even after 30+ minutes of having it on? Left the bowl in the freezer overnight and we have tried it twice and both times the texture is runny like soup.

submitted by Kiki - 5 months ago
  • A: What ingredients are you using? You have to use heavy cream. You can't use regular milk or almond milk. It's not thick enough. That's why its not thick, if that's what you're using.

Q: Can you freeze the paddle along with the bowl before making ice cream?

submitted by Ksb - 9 months ago
  • A: We don’t recommend freezing the paddle and don’t think it will make a noticeable difference in forming the final ice cream.

submitted byMarcus - 8 months ago

Q: Does unit need rock salt to process ice cream ?

submitted by Miss M - 10 months ago
  • A: No this does not require rock salt and makes exceptional ice cream.

submitted byMarcus - 9 months ago

Q: The ice cream is very good, however, it sticks to the paddles and makes it hard to get off. Any ideas or suggestions?

submitted by Kathy - 11 months ago
  • A: It is best to remove the paddle from the bowl before putting the soft ice cream in the freezer to firm it up. A spoon or spatula can be used to wipe the paddle.

Works well, but bowl needs 24 hours to freeze

Works well, but takes 24 hours to freeze bowl enough to work. The instructions say 12-24 hours, but 24 hours is the minimum. Our freezer works great, and we put the bowl in the back as the manual states. Anything less than 24 and the ice cream mixture never froze.

This is just such a fun appliance!! I’ve had it for about three weeks, and I’ve made vanilla custard, strawberry ice cream, and a whole lot of different sorbets - raspberry, peach, and tangerine, etc. So easy to use. Don’t have to have an exact recipe - which I really like - to make it delicious. It’s fast and easy to use. It’s nice to use simple ingredients and not have added ingredients you don’t want. Well worth the price! With the high cost of store ice cream, I think it’s already paid for itself.

Ice Cream Machine

My husband bought this Ice-21 model, as the competitor brand I had bit the dust. I have made two batches of chocolate ice cream, using the recipe from the manual that came with the machine. Following the directions, the ice cream churned well on both occasions and freezing the remaining batch in a separate covered container lasts for several days. I highly recommend this ice-21. It makes a lot!

Better Than Store-Bought Frozen Treats

I love my new ice cream maker! So far I have made blueberry frozen yogurt and chocolate ice cream! The machine is easy to use but the whole process does take time! You have to put the bowl of the machine in the freezer overnight as well as refrigerating the ingredients a few hours or overnight. But believe me, its well worth it! All you taste are the natural ingredients you use, not any fillers or additives that store-bought ice creams/yogurts have! I would highly recommend this to anyone!

I have been preparing homemade ice cream for years using a hand cranked ice cream maker. Add the ice cream base to the Cuisinart ICE-21 and walk away for 20 minutes or so, come back and you have great homemade ice cream! It is inexpensive, easy to use, clean and store. Very pleased.

I didn't know making ice-cream could be so simple!

I love my Cuisinart ice-cream maker! It's so simple (only 3 pieces), no-fuss (don't need ice or salt), it's relatively quiet while it operates, it doesn't take up a lot of counter space, and if the freezer bowl is kept in the freezer at all times, you can have ice-cream the same day! What's not to love? I also really appreciate the recipes that come with in the instruction manual. I've made the butter pecan and cheesecake so far and they were superb! Hit the spot during these hot summer days. Pistachio is next on the list.

Bad purchase

I purchased this item two weeks ago. I’m so disappointed in the performance. I’ve tried 4 different recipes, all icy and bad.. states it takes 20 minutes to produce ice cream, mine takes 10 minutes only, and it’s an icy clump. Website states returns are for unused products only, so I’m stuck with this machine. SAVE your money and purchase a Ninja Creami !! I so wished I would have done that …

This ice cream maker is super easy to use and makes delicious frozen desserts. So far I've only made chocolate coconut milk ice cream and mango sorbet. I keep the bowl in the freezer so it's ready to use any time and chilled my mixtures overnight for best results. Definitely recommend.

The first time we made Mango ice cream, it was a perfect consistency; creamy, crunchy with mango bites and great. The next weekend, we tried to make a shorbet, it never did. I think it was our error.
