The Diono Radian® 3R is the original slim-fit 3 across All-in-One convertible car seat, designed to protect from baby to booster seat (5 - 120 lb). Lovingly engineered with the famous Diono steel reinforced frame and now rear facing for even longer, expect 10 years of safety from just one car seat. Designed and engineered with complete rear facing protection, so you can keep them in a safe rear facing convertible car seat for longer up to 50 lb. Built with a mechanically engineered, reinforced steel frame, made from automotive grade high strength steel, the radian is always ready to shield and protect. And when your family grows, the slim-fit design will fit 3 across in most vehicles without compromising child safety or passenger comfort. Our SuperLATCH™ system (UAS Compatible) makes installation easy and super secure. As travel car seat experts, Diono have naturally built in super portable and convenient features to the Radian 3R with original fold for easy transport and storage and easy remove machine washable covers. A: This seat should fit in a Chevy Malibu. Keep in mind, if you are installing it rear facing, it may take up 32" - 36" of space depending on your vehicle seat pitch.

Q: Our granddaughter is quite tall for her weight and age. She will have to face backwards for at least a year. How much room do you have for the child's legs when the seat is facing backwards. Some of have room than others. Thanks

A: This car seat does tend to offer more room for a growing child. With low boarding sides, children often sit with their legs cross or hand over the side for comfort. Many children ride in this seat rear facing up to 4 and even 5 years old.

Best Car Seat
Both of my children have the Diono Radian 3R car seat and we love them. The size of these car seats are very convenient specially if you have a small car. I love the color selection that they have and my children are safe while on the road. They’re so easy to wash too. The only thing is that they are VERY heavy.

Nice car seat for older kids
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 5 year old loves it. I do too, the chest clip is easy to fasten and unfasten and the big button is not hard to push like some car seats. It sits in the seat nicely and is not super heavy and awkward.

Shipping and customer service were kind of a pain
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We really like the product. Good quality, and we really like that we can fit three carseats in the back. There were quite a bit of delays with our shipment. We ordered two of the same model. One of them was shipped just fine, but when we checked to see the status on the other one, it said it got sent all the way back to WA after making it almost all the way to our house. When we called customer service they kept telling us they would call us back but never did. My wife called them again a day or two later and they told us they couldn’t do anything because we didn’t get the package protection. Just a bit frustrating.

Radian 3R Storm
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I rated 3 star because the car seat is convenient and light weight and easy to move from 1 car to another. My child is 6 months so I had him rear facing. He constantly slouched over when falling to sleep because there is not much support. There is one level of padding so probably not that comfortable either for long rides. Took me forever to see how to install and snap the head support padding on (I had the black storm model) the instructions wasn’t that clear. Not recommended for the price.

Sturdy and such

But not an infant and toddler friendly as it doesn’t come with a support for the head which I think is very important for those age. But other than that it looks cool and very sturdy. I just hope it will be 100% safe if accident happens.

Great for smaller cars
So I can definitely fit 3 across in my Malibu, which is what I needed! My only complaint is that it’s not great as a rear facing car seat. You can’t adjust it so I have to scoot my front passenger seat all the way forward in order for it to fit. I was able to fit my daughter’s infant car seat so I opted for that instead of this one. I’ll get hers when she no longer needs a rear facing car seat.

I love that we didn’t need to purchase a new vehicle after we had twins because the Diono Radian 3R fits three across. Misleading Advertising
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Diono advertises this car seat as a sleek, good-looking affair. What you actually get has enormous warning labels melted into the fabric on both sides and seatback. It looks terrible and I’ll be steering everyone I know away from Diono. Their support was completely unhelpful in the matter.

Cannot get this car seat to not rock when installed
I have two of these car seats I bought at the same time, one for forward facing and one for rear but I cannot no matter how hard I try get either of them to tighten especially the rear facing once, they rock back and forth so much.

We have a total of 6 of these. They are the only brand we found that would fit 3 across and we are very happy we found them. Very sturdy, easy to wash, and the kids are comfortable!

Not a good design
Bought this car seat to fit 3 across in a 2019 Nissan Murano. In using the seat belt to secure this car seat in the middle of the back seat there is no way to make the car seat secure. There is a lot of play in the car seat no matter how hard you tighten the strap. After doing some looking online there is multiple complaints of this issue.
