Diono Radian 3R SafePlus All-in-One Convertible Car Seat

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second Diono car seat purchase. The first one was for great granddaughter #1. I could not let great granddaughter #2 have second rate car seat so I purchased one for her. These car seats are by far superior to any product I have seen.

Seat is awesome and comfy according to my 4yo. However; be aware that if your child sleeps, this seat is not sleep friendly. Their head constantly falls fwd. Seat does not secure well in volvo xc60 so be wary of that. Moves front to back and side to side too much even after installing according to diono install. I will not rate below 4 stars because I've had diono seats thru 3 children and I think this Seat and my car are not 100% compatible.

It is very hard in my 2023 MDX to get a good fit on the belt path with only 1” movement at the belt path. It feels too loose. It does for three across.

I chose Diono for its safety ratings and because I like how heavy it is. I also like the 3-across feature. While I wouldn’t change my mind or purchase another car seat, I do find that this version feels deeper when rear facing. I have a bit of a blind spot due to the size of the car seat when rear facing. Otherwise love it!

We have had other Diono car seats over the years for our children, and this one seems just as nice. They are really great if you need to for three across in the back seat!

I bought this seat to use in my Volvo XC90 for my niece. I love how narrow it is, works great in the second row middle seat with plenty of room for people on either side. I am struggling a bit to get a tight fit and the belt path isn’t easy to reach. It also isn’t very plush or comfortable looking. This meets my needs for an occasional rider but don’t think I’d want it if my toddler would be in it daily. I do think it would work best for a forward facing older child as opposed to the 18 month old I was shopping for.
