A: I had the exact same problem & came here looking for help. I did what the company said to do in the comments, to just sharpen it -- even though it seems to be fully coated in some type of plastic -- and the eyeliner is destroyed & my sharpener broke.

It Does Sharpen!
The pencil goes on nice and smooth. Is not the longest lasting, but for the price I expect that. It does sharpen, just try it people! Maybe some don’t think so because it’s encased in a plastic type material(?) but it does. Anyway, I’d buy it again overall
