Enjoy hands-on fun with the FAO Schwarz Pottery Wheel Studio. Use the spinning wheel to explore your creativity and create containers, cups, creatures, and anything else you can imagine. A: as a professional potter, toy wheels never have enough weight or torque to actually work properly. better to use the $50 for a one time class with a real pottery wheel, it will be more fun

A: Yes, the spinning platform on the pottery wheel can be lifted off for cleaning. While detailed cleaning instructions are included in the manual, we recommend wiping the platform with a damp sponge or cloth. Also, do not submerge the pottery wheel in water when cleaning. Thank you

A: Yes, the paint will come off with soap and water. Clay can easily be removed from the hands and any residue can be washed off with soap and water. Thank you

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Assembly was relatively easy. My 7 year old needed some help getting started. It's made of plastic which makes me think it won't last too long. The biggest issue is how weak the motor is that spins the platter. It bogs down at the slightest pressure or resistance. My daughter still loved it despite my concerns. So hopefully it will hold up over time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the FAO Schwarz Pottery Wheel Studio for my daughter, and it turned out to be a fun weekend activity. The wheel works fine, though it’s not super powerful, so you need to help guide the clay with your hands a lot. The included air-dry clay is a nice amount (5 pounds), and the paints are decent for decorating finished pieces, though they’re on the small side. It does get messy—definitely cover the table and have some water handy. My daughter enjoyed shaping little bowls and vases, and painting them after they dried was the highlight. It’s not professional pottery by any means, but for kids who like crafts and getting their hands dirty, this is a great starter kit.

This is extremely underpowered. It barely spins once clay is on it. Therefore it’s pointless and doesn’t work as intended. I would not recommend.

If you want quality don't buy this one. Motor is extremely underpowered. It will not spin if add any amount of pressure.

Should have expected this, but the motor is not strong enough to keep turning once you put your hands on the clay. And the clay is nowhere near wet enough. Kids are ‘pretending’ but will need to build with their hands to make anything.
