Fellow Opus Gen 2 Grinder Matte Black

Opus 2 solves all of the problems of Opus 1 - retention and ease of adjustment. The result is an incredibly easy to use, highly adjustable, smart looking grinder with top notch grind results.

I purchased the Ode Brew Grinder Gen 2 expecting a premium product to match its premium price. When it was working, the grind quality was very good and I was pleased with the coffee it produced. Unfortunately, my experience with the grinder itself was disappointing. Within roughly a month of purchase, the grinder developed a problem related to the anti-static pins. Cleaning it also required far more disassembly than I expected for routine ownership, and the process resulted in coffee grounds getting everywhere. For a grinder at this price point, I expected better reliability and an easier ownership experience. I also found the return and refund process unnecessarily drawn out after the product was returned. There is a lot to like about the concept and the results when it works, which is why I am giving it two stars rather than one. But based on my experience with reliability, maintenance, and after-sale support, I would not purchase it again.

Grinder is wonderful for the price. Can’t be beat. Mine, however, started clogging after a month of use. Fellow sent me a replacement quickly and it is working great again. Hope this grinder works for years like Baraza did before I replaced it with Opus 2.

Grinds well. But way too much coffee ground debris. It’s everywhere (in the hopper and all around the catch cup). Unlike any other grinder I’ve owned.

Perfect grinder for espresso. Easy to use and no mess.

I have the Ode, but was not happy with having to clean it as much as I was for daily use. I ended up grinding a weeks worth and cleaning once. I found a video of the Opus2 and had to give it a shot. There is a big difference in feel between the two, the Ode being a more solid feel. With that quick comparison, I am highly impressed with the Opus 2. The grind consistency is enough to make me break out my vacuum brewer on weekends. I have used Fellow products, from grinders to the Carter Move mug, for some time now and enjoy each one. I have even converted a few friends who enjoy them as well.

SUCH a big improvement from the Opus one! The grind has less static which keeps the mess way down.

Great grinder that fixed almost all of the issues from the Opus 1. It grinds the beans incredibly fast and has almost no retention. I hope it holds up to the test of time. Only thing is I wish less of the body and components were plastic.

I bought this specifically to pair with my new espresso machine. As I also brew French press, it seemed like this would be a good option to do both brew methods. However, I am a little disappointed. Technically it works for espresso but the adustments for the espresso grinds are not as adjustable as I would have hoped.

Retentions is about 1g. Which you can get used to if you as long as you are not changing beans or grind size. The bigger issue is that in-consistent grinding. At the same setting I can see ground coffee of varying sizes in the same batch, even after purging and discarding the first couple of grams.

I purchased the Opus 2 along with the Aiden coffee maker. Though I am not a coffee drinker, my friends and family who have used the Opus and Aiden over the past month have been pleased with the end result.

It works beautifully and I love the open cup catcher because it’s easier to empty into coffee pot. It’s also beautiful

Warning: The walnut lid fit’s loosely. So using the lid as a bellows does not work very well. Otherwise the grinder works as advertised.

I wanted something for home brewing before heading to work in the morning. It’s super quick and intuitive. Noise isn’t bothersome. I’m not keen on some of the plastic build but it’s great overall.

Unfortunately, this grinder isn't good for espresso.

Incredible machine! Gorgeous to look at, takes minimal counter space, quiet and quick. Grinds beans perfectly. Highly recommend.
