Velvet Comforter and Sham Set - Threshold™

What a great bedding set! I bought the green color which is soft and beautiful. The fabric is substantial, the weight is not too heavy, and it washes up well. It's called velvet but feels and looks more like a soft luxurious lightweight suede. Beautiful! The best part is that both the comforter and pillow shams are big enough to actually cover our deep mattress and pillows.

I absolutely love this comforter. That being said I have probably washed it maybe a total of 4 or 5 times total in the time that Ive had it. The seams are literally coming apart and the stuffing is coming out. Obviously not very durable and very disappointing!

This might be a lengthy review but I figured I would add some insight because the other reviews can be confusing. For starters, I love this comforter. I actually had the duvet version of this exact style & I absolutely loved it, other than having wrestle a duvet/duvet insert every week to wash it. I loved it so much I wanted to buy the comforter version & I’m happy I did. I have a king sized bed & this covers it perfectly. I washed this twice already and have had no issues with tearing, etc. I do have a top load, higher capacity washer with NO agitator. That might be your issue if this comforter ends up tearing. If you do have an agitator I recommend getting the duvet version of this comforter. I used to have a washer with an agitator and my duvet version of this didn’t have any issues. With the comforter version, I did have to dry it 6 times but that’s expected when you have king sized bedding. In the summer I will likely just hang it on the clothesline instead. I will say I’m taking off a star because the comforter version does feel slightly cheaper than the duvet version. I also bought my duvet version 2 years ago so you know how literally anything just gets made cheaper & cheaper as the years go on. What I love most about this style is that the top is a soft cotton velvet that adds some feeling of texture and luxury. While the bottom is a flat cotton that doesn’t make you too hot. My husband thankfully even thinks it’s as comfortable as the duvet version so that’s a relief! It does weigh slightly less than when you have the duvet version so that’s another factor to consider when researching!

It says it’s machine washable but I washed it one time and the seams split open, letting stuffing out!

The velvet bedspread is beautiful, however, if you have one side against the wall it pulls every time you get in, lay on the made bed it get out of the bed so you end up making the bed 5 times a day if you want it to look neat. It is very pretty and great quality, just don’t put a side against the wall.

Terrible quality! It ripped after the 1st wash and the part of the filling turn into a flat, matted section. Would not recommend and wish I could get my money back.

I bought this comforter in May 2024 and unfortunately it didn't even last a year before ripping. I did however love it so much I decided to just bite the bullet and buy a new one. The new one arrived in March 2025 and definitely doesn't feel as soft as the one I had previously. Not sure if the material changed but it feels stiffer. But maybe that means this one won't rip.

Purchased December 8, it has only been washed twice - nothing else in the washer with it; only the comforter and shams (today is January 25) . The comforter is already coming apart. It’s very cute and soft but totally not worth it based on the price and the quality.

I bought it in August it had a use in put and when washing it by machine as it is supposedly certified the cotton velvet very bad quality it was rough, old. I return it because I can’t stay with a product of those wrong characteristics. I don’t recommend it

I've used this for a couple of weeks and it is falling apart! The way it is constructed causes the "velvet " to easily come out. Listen to this and all of the other negative reviews. Avoid this item! What a disappointing purchase, surely hoping I get a refund for this.

It is beautiful and comfortable. Washes great. If you are looking for something super warm and snuggly. This is it! If you sleep next to a human heater and are going through menopause. Keep on scrolling!

This comforter is a perfect shade of green. It feel so luxurious for the price.

I received a used comforter. The quality control must be horrible as it is very easily determined to be a used product. I get that people return things but at least repackage it so it looks new. I can’t really speak to the quality of the item as I didn’t take it out of the bag when I realized it was used.

Came apart first time washing it 👎 & in same order my bedside lamp arrived damaged. Very unhappy with the quality of these products.

I purchased this set because it was on sale. I have a king-sized bed and the fit is great. it drapes over the sides nicely, it's not too short like a lot of these king-sized comforters are now. Love the feel of the velvet and its not velvet on both sides so it doesn't get too hot. It's not super heavy or light either, it's perfect for the fall-winter season. Overall $55 for a king set is a great deal in my opinion.
