I tried using this spray to restore some wave and volume to my hair and it does the job! And also smells good and doesn’t leave a thick residue that would weigh down my hair.

That said, I give this product a solid 10/10. It works great as a heat protectant, has a pleasant scent, and doesn’t leave any residue in my hair like some other products I've tried.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have naturally really thick, wavy/curly hair, and quite a bit of frizz when there is any humidity at all in the air. Wave defining sprays are one of my favorite products during the summer months for that reason, as they keep my hair from being ALL frizz. The Function of Beauty Beach Day Wave Defining Spray is the first wave spray I’ve used that is salt-free. This one instead uses coconut sugar and to be honest, I don’t think I liked it as much. It kind of left my hair feeling “sticky” and a bit weighed down. The first time I used it I tried scrunching it through my damp hair but didn’t love the way it looked after, so the next time I tried when my hair was more wet, and scrunched a lot more lightly, and was much happier with the results. I did have more frizz with this product than I’ve had with other wave sprays, but obviously I would’ve likely had less had I mixed in some of Function of Beauty’s #hairgoals add ins. I will say I LOVE the scent of this spray, my hair smells amazing after applying and it dries down very light. I also love that it’s 100% vegan and has UV protection! I’m curious to know how much of a difference the brand’s add ins would make, and how my hair would look after so I’ll probably purchase again to see if it makes me like this product more.
