A: I avoid dairy (cheese, milk, all of it) but I made an exception when the ingredients changed on these chips. Fortunately, they don't seem to impact me, so it must not be much. But that is just my experience. If you really can't eat dairy be careful.

A: Guittard chocolate is comparable quality to Ghirardelli & is "Free from 14 allergens & sensitizers" including dairy. I like the Guittard Extra Dark Chocolate, which is 63% cacao.

A: Yes, it is absolutely dairy-free. My husband's lactose intolerant, so I did my homework before making a flourless chocolate cake for him. Some may have dairy from the fat they use, like butter, but this product uses cocoa butter, which is the oil extracted from the cocoa. So no worries!😄

These chips are NOT real white chocolate! Beware. True white chocolate is still chocolate bc the dairy has cocoa butter. These chips used to be genuine white chocolate, they are NOT anymore. The taste is sour and phlegmy. Buy the white chocolate bar by Ghirardelli,— most cases, just look up on the same aisle— really delicious. These chips are just oils, dairy, and lecithin— just oily sweetened dairy chips Sad.

It's not chocolate, folks
Not a fan of white chocolate, to be honest, but these chips don't even have any relationship to the cacao bean that all chocolate comes from. They are made from palm kernel oil. You can research the devastating environmental impact of that oil if you wish, but if you're looking for white chocolate chips that derive from cacao beans, these ain't it.
