The Graco® SlimFit3™ LX 3-in-1 Car Seat is our slimmest design that fits 3 car seats across, saving space in your back seat without compromising on the safety you trust and the features you need. This narrow all-in-one car seat grows with your child from rear-facing harness (5-40 lb) to forward-facing harness (22-65 lb) to highback booster (40-100 lb). We tested our lightweight 3-across car seat in every configuration, to help ensure your growing family can fit in your vehicle, even with children of different ages who ride in different modes, or when paired with select other Graco car seats. Integrated belt lock-off makes for easy vehicle seat belt installation in forward-facing mode, and allows you to position your seats to maximize space with 3 across. Graco’s exclusive push-button InRight™ LATCH provides an easy, one-second attachment with an audible click to help ensure secure installation. We made thoughtful design choices to make the SlimFit3 easy to adjust with 3 car seats in the back seat. The No-Rethread Simply Safe Adjust™ Harness System allows you to adjust the height of the headrest and harness to 10 positions with just one motion for just the right fit. Easily adjust the 4-position recline for a better installation and a comfortable ride. The Rapid Remove cover comes off in 60 seconds, without uninstalling the seat or removing the harness, and is machine washable. Plus, the SlimFit3™ is slim enough to fit 3 across, but spacious enough to keep your growing child comfy. Breathable mesh AirFlow channels provide improved ventilation to keep your child cool and comfortable. Two cup holders are designed to work with the three-across configuration to keep drinks and snacks close at hand. Fuss-free harness storage pockets conveniently hold the harness out of the way while your child gets in and out. Removable, plush head and body inserts help to keep your infant feeling cradled and comfortable. The steel-reinforced frame provides strength and durability for years of use, and EPS energy-absorbing foam provides effective impact energy management. A: Thanks for reaching out with this great question! The SlimFit3 LX 3-in-1 Convertible Car Seat is approved for installation with inflatable seat belts. However, when installing do not use the shoulder belt lock-off with inflatable belt systems. We hope this helps!

A: I think the biggest thing is the newer version (LX) is updated to meet the new federal standards that are coming into effect in June 2025. If you look at the rear facing weight requirements, the LX requires rear facing until 26.5lbs whereas the plain slim fit is a lower weight. Side impact standards are also updated. Most old car seats not updated are still safe to use, but they won’t have the updated safety features. Hope this helps!

Q: Does this meet the new claim of side-Impact Tested to FMVSS 213a? I know this test doesn’t get enforced until June 30, 2025 but I want to get ahead.

A: I believe it does! If you look at the weight requirements for rear facing, it’s updated with the 26.5lb requirement for being flipped forward facing. The older plan slim fit model is not.

Haven’t had it very long, and only using it read-facing so far, but so far so good. Pretty easy to take in and out of the car if needed, easy to buckle and tighten/loosen, easy to remove cover, and our kid seems comfortable in it. At this point I’d recommend this car seat.

I have other Graco seats, we have also had Nuna and Chico brand seats between all our kids. This specific model has the WORST, most difficult installation out of all of them. I spent over an hour installing it rear-facing the first time. Now tonight I just turned it around forward-facing and again super pain of an installation. The manual is not helpful in terms of how to move the latch system around I had to watch a YouTube video. The latch strap is SO HARD to tighten. I have to fully sit on the seat, putting all my body weight into it, and yank it more than what is comfortably possible for me to get the latch strap tight enough to stop the car seat from moving. When first installing it my partner actually had to tighten it while I physically sat in the seat in order for us to get the latch strap tight enough to stop the car seat from moving. Super unsafe for those who can’t muscle their way to max-tightness as the seat slides all over the place if the strap is even slightly too loose.
