Book Synopsis
125 of your new favorite recipes, featuring maximum flavor, minimum fuss, and the farm to table style that turned Half Baked Harvest from a beloved blog into the megahit cookbook series "Recipes veer from Braised Pork Tamale Burrito Bowls to Crispy Buffalo Quinoa Bites with no logic other than flat-out good taste."--Epicurious Tieghan Gerard grew up in the Colorado mountains as one of seven children. When her dad took too long to make dinner every night, she started doing the cooking--at age fifteen. Ever-determined to reign in the chaos of her big family, Tieghan found her place in the kitchen. She had a knack for creating unique dishes, which led her to launch her blog, Half Baked Harvest. Since then, millions of people have fallen in love with her fresh take on comfort food, stunning photography, and charming life in the mountains. While it might be a trek to get to Tieghan's barn-turned-test kitchen, her creativity shines here: dress up that cheese board with a real honey comb; decorate a standard salad with spicy, crispy sweet potato fries; serve stir fry over forbidden black rice; give French Onion Soup an Irish kick with Guinness and soda bread; bake a secret ingredient into your apple pie (hint: it's molasses). From Korean Beef, Sweet Potato, and Quinoa Bibimbap to Healthier Slow-Cooker Butter Chicken to Addictive Salted Caramel-Stuffed Chocolate Cookies, a striking photograph accompanies every recipe, making Half Baked Harvest Cookbook a feast your eyes, too.Review Quotes

Strange recipes that look and sound disgusting.. Soufflé omelette with spinach, artichokes, Brie and honey? Chamomile honey syrup? Goat cheese on poached eggs? PB& J grilled cheese? Just feels like she thought up the most elaborate outrageous recipes to try to be different… the bright yellow with red lettering on the spine is also not appealing. Will be returning.

This is a GREAT cook book. Slight twists on classics. Lots of kid-friendly (at least for my toddler - she's not too picky), lots of easy weeknight recipes, and "new" recipes (at least for us). Mostly well balanced meals - every recipe we have tried, everyone enjoyed.

I love this cookbook! I remember first looking through the book and being excited by the recipes, which is rare I have found after buying a few cookbooks since then. The recipes are so unique, but not weird. There are definitely complex ones (ie a lot of ingredients) but also some simple ones. I've learned how to make a Dutch Baby and now make it every weekend! I also learned how to make Chia Pudding and eat that quite often now with my smoothies. My favourite is the Pumpkin and Cauliflower Gratin, which I've made a couple of times and it's SO good! The pictures are also beautiful. I'm making the Apple and Brie Soup next and can't wait to try it. I honestly don't think there's a recipe I don't want to try!

I love Tieghan and have been following her blog for awhile and her Instagram as well. It's a great watch in case you want to feel inspired for dinner plans. When the book was released I had to grab a copy. I love how easy her recipes are and how you can also very easily manipulate them to your tastes. I love the flavors in some recipes but may not be too fond of the protein choice so I make small changes to fit the palate of myself and my family.
A gift that keeps giving.
