A: Unfortunately, the blade is in the drinking cup, the only way to get it really clean is in the dishwasher... handwashing could be dangerous!

submitted byHamiltonBeachTeam - 6 years agoBrand expertA: From a chef's perspective in case you do not have a dishwasher, one way to clean it would be to insert dish soap and little warm (not hot) water. Turn it on to distribute the soapy water around the blades. Pour it out and continue to wash until one's own liking. Best to do this after every use to prevent the build-up of mold or bacteria.

I bought it a second time because (a) thought that inability to separate cup from black bottom on the first one was a fluke and (b) liked the way it looked and had worked previously. Now must buy another brand.

It mixes great, but it leaks like crazy at the mixing point.
I like this blender overall. It blends my protein mix with milk perfectly and in short order. The lid isn't the greatest but it does it's job. The cup fits in the cup holder of my vehicle and generally does what cups do. My issue is the way they mounted the blades inside the cup and put them through the bottom to the part that connects to the blender motor. It's sealed very poorly. During mixing liquid comes out the bottom and is not the easiest to clean. Upon further inspection of them motor unit you can see a drain hole designed to prevent liquid from staying when it leaks. It does not leak after mixing, only during. Worth the $20 I paid for it? Sure, but invest in paper towels to clean this unit after each use.

Works fine if you don’t put large frozen items in like ice cubes. We go through several a year as they develop leaks. You can’t buy replacement cups. We have plenty of motors.

This little blender is an absolute delight! With its powerful motor it has the ability to puree frozen diced fruit within seconds! I start out with dicing all of my favorite fruits to equal 1 cup, frozen peaches, fresh strawberry, banana, grapes a half cup of yogurt, a half cup of soy milk with or without 2 Tbsp ovaltine. I like its push button start and that it stops when released feature. Within seconds I have a delicious nutritious treat. It's the perfect size. I like it that there are no seals to clean, the container and blades are all in one. The container securely locks into place without having to push down to operate the motor like with other brands and risk damaging what turns the blades. This brand is reasonably priced and works great! I am so happy with my purchase!

A waste of $20
I could get a smoother blend just throwing food up in the air and wildly swinging my arms about while holding a pair of dull forks. If you want to blend chocolate milk and white milk together, this is your machine. If you’re looking to make smoothies from ice or frozen anything, just spend the $20 at a smoothie bar because this thing isn’t cutting it. Literally. If I could go back in time and stop myself from spending this $20, I would. I would also put a note on it warning other people not to buy it. I only gave it one star because zero stars is not an option. Tiny, ineffectual blades. Poor design. 13/10 do not recommend.

You get what you pay for
If you do not intend on using this blender for anything frozen it may work for you, but it is not strong enough to blend frozen fruit without repeatedly taking it off the mount and shaking it. Because the lid does not screw on and it has a hole in the top to drink out of, this means it will always leak when you do this. Then, because youve put cold things in it, the plastic of the press on lid shrinks and you have to hold a leaky container close to your chest to get enough leverage to remove the lid. I am going to return this and buy a better blender. If you truly can't afford anything else, it will blend with some effort, but if you can afford better I would not waste your time on this.

Does Not Blend Regular Ice
The blender does not crush regular ice. Soft pellet ice yes, but not the regular ice from a tray or freezer machine. I froze some coffee in an ice tray overnight to make a homemade Frappuccino. I loaded the coffee cubes in the blender with some creamer and syrup, and nothing blended. I shook the machine a few times to see if the ice need to fall down to the bottom by blades, but that didn't help. Unfortunately the return period is long gone, so I might have to wind up throwing it away. I'm guessing this would only work if you are using it to blend frozen fruit for a smoothie.
