Hamilton Beach Countertop Oven with Convection & Rotisserie SS 31103D: 1500W Toaster Oven, Freestanding, Dishwasher-Safe Parts

I had high hopes. My older Hamilton Beach toaster oven lasted ten years with no issues, but the new one is not very good. It seems to get hotter outside than my old one, and not as hot on the inside. But the worst part of this machine is that the convection fan died the second time I used it. I used the convection fan several times a week on the old one. I really miss my old machine.

I purchased my oven on May 30, 2025 and used it for broiling on June 8, 2025, when I opened the door when it was finished my hand was burned on the metal on the glass door. I used the oven again on June 11, 2025 for baking. The oven got extremely hot on the outside, even the control knobs. I turned the oven off and transferred the dish to my stove. I had a previous counter top oven for over 20 years, it was never hot on the outside. I do not feel safe using this product when the outside gets that hot. There must be something wrong with the product. Please send me instructions on how to take care of this,

Works great! We had an issue with our main oven at Christmas and I was able to cook a prime rib roast in this! It fits 12-13” pizzas, bread, a whole chicken, cakes, pies, you name it. Two tips for use: make sure your pans don’t have handles or flared sides and is 13” from end to end, and buy an oven thermometer. This is actually the second time I have owned this toaster oven and one did seem to run at a more accurate temp than the other. However, I still love it so much that I rarely use my big oven unless I literally need to. Also due to its size, you need to cover the edges of your pies and the top of cheesecakes because they get darker than in a larger oven with more space from the heating element.

I was able to bake two layered cakes , pizza, dinnef rolls, and my favorite roast chicken with minimal cleanup. The oven looks great on your countertop, has two racks for baking and cooks evenly for uniformed cooking .

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was provided this product for free from Hamilton Beach in exchange for my review. This is a countertop oven with rotisserie and other features. It is large, with approximate measurements: 20.5 inches length x 13.5 inches height x 13.5 inches depth. With the glass oven door open the depth is 23.5 inches. It comes with two removable oven rack grates that slide in and out to be raised or lowered. It also has a darker pan that can be slid onto the side rack slots and may be raised or lowered. It does not have a broil rack that fits inside the darker pan. It would be helpful to have a rack that fit directly inside to collect drippings if a roast were cooking on it to allow for air circulation. It comes with a smaller, silver colored solid pan that is 12 inches x 10.5 inches with a removable broil rack that fits inside. The silver, solid pan and inner rack may rest on top of the oven rack grates. It also has a rotisserie skewer and a rotisserie lift. The dials have rotisserie, bake, convection, and broil functions. There are also temperature and timer dials. The temperature degrees are painted around the dial and increase in 50 degree increments. As the temperature numbers changed from 300 to 350 and 350 to 400, they got closer together on the dial. It was difficult to set the dial to 375 degrees when cooking a frozen pizza, which was the recommended temperature the instructions stated to use. The dial ended up slipping closer to 400, and the pizza burned. There is almost no space between the 400 and 450 degree markers. It would be more convenient if there were a digital dial to control the temperature accurately. The timer also has painted on numbers and increases in 10 minute increments. It was not easy to cook items at precise times, where the recommended time was 11 or 12 minutes. I had to use my digital timer on my stove to keep accurate time. It would be more convenient if the timer were digital. The oven fit a large piece of pizza easily inside to reheat it. This product may be good for people who don’t have an oven at all, but it is not that user friendly, with the analog, as opposed to digital controls. It takes up a lot of counter space and may not fit on a small apartment countertop very easily. It has convection oven features, but is not really an air fryer. Because the Hamilton Beach Oven is really a very large toaster, that is not very accurate in its temperature and timer settings, which are very basic functions, I do not recommend this product.

To begin with, it heats up almost instantly and is so quite you forget it's running until the timer goes off. The only time you hear it is when cooking on convection and then you hear the fan but it's not real loud. Everything that that has been cooked in it; mini tacos, corn dogs, chicken tenders, and pizza have all cooked evenly and in less time than stated on the packaging. A full size frozen rising crust pizza fits in with plenty of room on all sides for heat to circulate. Only word of warning and this is probably normal for all counter top ovens and toaster ovens; the glass door and attaching hardware get really hot. The handle does not but I find myself wanting to close the door by grabbing the hardware and it's too hot to do that. The handle lays flat on the counter so instinctively I reach for the the hardware to lift it up enough to place my hand under the handle. I've learned it's best to open the door with an oven mitt and leave the mitt under the handle to keep it slightly raised off the counter top.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This countertop convection oven is really good for heating small/medium-sized things, such as snacks (pretzels, mozzarella sticks, etc.) and cooking items such as pizza. I cooked a 10-inch pizza and it turned out perfect. It heats up quickly, faster than a conventional, full-sized oven. It is a huge time saver and energy saver, because you use less electricity to run it, and you can use it for smaller items. It has a rotisserie function; however, I am a vegetarian so I won't use that feature. There is a manual timer which you have to turn to set (a nice, vintage touch). The other controls are very intuitive and easy to use. There is a tray to catch any spills, which I hand wash. Otherwise, cleanup is super easy with a damp sponge and some paper towels. The design is sleek and goes well with most decor (in my case, my stainless-steel appliances.) One downside is that there isn't a lot of room inside the oven. This is a tradeoff for being able to place the oven on a countertop. I highly recommend this very well-made convection oven.

Love how many options there are. We've used the rotisserie to make chicken, and it worked great. It's big enough to make two pizzas at a time, which is great seeing we have a house full of teenage boys.

Many dishes we make in the regular oven can be instead made in the toaster oven, which heats up faster and doesn’t heat up the whole house to use. The simplicity makes it a great item for our kids to use to make a pizza, especially when they have friends over!

It is simple to use and no time to set up. Comes with everything you need to use so no extra spending required. The only down side is it is noisy when you use the convection feature it sounds like it is going to take off.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is the perfect size and solution to our cooking needs.We live in California, and many times there are recipes or items that I would like to make for a meal, but I don't always want to heat up the entire oven for a few small things. If it is very warm outside, I won't heat the oven at all, so this is a welcome solution. It also gives me the extra oven space that I need when I cannot fit everything in my conventional oven when making a holiday meal.

Cant wait to make more things in it. The crust came out perfect. It was very easy to use, box was pretty big so it was kind of deceiving but it was mostly packing. I worried that i may not have enough counter space but it fit just fine. Works fast and efficiently.

This condo has a tiny kitchen without a working oven, so I needed something to save me from eating nothing but microwave meals. This oven is the PERFECT accessory for my temporary housing, and will be fantastic in my own kitchen, once that is finally restored. This countertop oven does everything a full-sized one can do, and is perfect for when you do not want to heat up a large oven, or for when you are cooking for one or 2. It has two shelves, as well as a larger tray that slides in in place of a shelf. It comes with a baking tray and a broiler rack that fits that tray perfectly. It also comes with a rotisserie spit. When using the rotisserie function, you need to dedicate all of the oven space to that. But if you're baking or roasting, you can have both shelves going at once. It is large enough to accommodate an 8x8 type pan, as well as a pie pan. It has broil, convection, and regular oven capabilities, as well as its own timer. It preheats quickly and cooks evenly. And it cooks your food well. My first non-microwave meal in too long consisted of loin lamb chops, roasted potatoes, and roasted brussels sprouts, all cooked at the same time utilizing both of the shelves. I followed that up with frozen turnovers, which this oven cooked to perfection. I have cooked tortas sandwiches, burritos, a whole pork tenderloin, biscuits, and more, all of which came out great. I love the fact I can utilize all of the oven space because of the multi-shelf capabilities. I love the fact that I can set a timer for x amount of time, and the oven will turn itself off when that amount of time has expired. I love the versatility and the large capacity. And I love the energy savings that come from using a smaller oven versus heating up a large one for a little bit of food. This oven would be great for smaller kitchens and efficiency type apartments that may not have space for a full size oven. It would make a great second oven to increase cooking capacity for holiday dinners, or just so you can cook side dishes at one temp while your roast cooks at a different temp in your main oven. It is truly a countertop oven that cooks like an oven, rather than a toaster oven that cooks unevenly and burns a lot of your food. I am very impressed with this countertop oven, and I certainly recommend it.

I was a little concerned on the amount of heat on the outside, but it cooled down quickly. I would recommend this for anyone that didn't want to use a regular oven. It is great for pizzas.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This countertop oven is a great size for one or two people. It was easy to put together, easy to understand, and worked well! Per the instructions, I let it heat up while empty before cooking anything to dissipate any smell, and it seemed to do the job. The oven handles the easy frozen stuff without trouble. I was able to bake two 12” pizzas comfortably. It also works well for cookies, and even a single loaf of bread. The rotisserie function and coated pan were a great combo, and I was able to rotisserie my first chicken and have it turn out great. There are a couple of nitpicks, however. The stainless steel finish picks up and makes any fingerprint or drip visible, though that doesn’t hinder its use in any way. Additionally, I found the prongs on the rotisserie bar were somewhat finicky to get back on if they came off either end, as well as fiddly to clean after cooking. Those small things aside, I’m very pleased as someone who rarely cooks for more than one or two people. It’s a great size, and I can see it being very useful.

The sleek stainless steel looks great on my countertop. Dials are large and easy to understand and get the desired results. The oven heats up very fast saving valuable kitchen preparation time.

When in use, the surface of the oven is so hot that it can burn a persons hand.

Recently purchased to replaced our smaller toaster oven of 10 years, and so far we are pleased. Looks really nice and heats up very hot. Only time will tell how well it keeps up.
