Q: How do you clean the transducer/ultrasonic membrane.

  • A: 1. Remove the tank cover and set aside. 2. Remove the tank and pour out any water remaining in the tank. 3. Twist as indicated to remove the water reservoir from the bottom of the tank and pour out any remaining water. 4. Clean the transducer/ultrasonic membrane with a 50/50 mix of white vinegar and water on a cotton swab. Wipe off with a damp cotton swab. NEVER touch the transducer/ultrasonic membrane with your fingers; the natural oils in the skin can damage the surface. NEVER submerge the base in water or any other liquid. 5. After cleaning, reassemble the humidifier, fill with water, plug in, and turn on. 6. Press and hold the clean indicator/reset button for 3 seconds, until the clean indicator turns off.

Q: Does this humidifier leave fine white dust on furniture and electronics? A different brand of an ultrasonic did that so we went back to the cool mist humidifier.

Mildew!! Wish I would have listened to the other reviews. It's almost impossible to remove the mildew. Small openings, length of machine. Maybe if I spent hours running boiling water through? But no guarantee, you can't see the whole length. Gross

In order to keep the water tank clean, we recommend the following: Remove the Tank Cover: Gently lift off the cover from the humidifier. Daily Maintenance: Each day, simply empty the tank and give it a quick rinse before refilling it. This keeps things fresh! Weekly Deep Clean: Once a week, mix equal parts white vinegar and lukewarm water. Use this mixture to clean the inside of the tank, which helps remove any scale or buildup.

We bought this humidifier 8 months ago. We live in Colorado where it is very dry, so it runs 24/7. We clean it weekly. We’ve only recently seen the red light a couple of times, but it goes away when we press and hold the “clean transducer” button for 3 seconds. We fill it with regular tap water. As long as you keep this thing clean, it runs great. And since the tank is so huge, it only needs to be filled once every couple of days instead of once or twice daily like most 1-2 gallon humidifiers. I’m not sure why so many other product reviewers seem to have faulty products. We love this thing.

I had high hopes for this product. I usually don't write reviews but I want to save someone else the trouble. I purchased it in November 2023, cleaned and cared for it exactly as the instructions showed, and in March 2024 it just stopped turning on. When it did turn on, the panel for the buttons was non-responsive. Conveniently, this happened right outside of the return window. Will be purchasing another Levoit product as that one has worked wonderfully

Waste of money

This machine takes about a gallon and a half of water to fill. When you fill it up with the water you paid for that is either purified or distilled, that is when it decides not to work. Then you have to dump the water which is not easily done. The device is in many pieces so emptying it out when it decides not to work is annoying. It takes about a half an hour to clean it and your floors (as water gathers in different units of the machine) and it happens ever 3 to 4 times your use it. Not worth the price of the unit or the water you have to keep dumping to clean it. Finally threw mine in then dumpster tonight! Beyond annoying...too much up keep! I just bought a different brand for about $35 and will let you know in a later review how it is working out!

I've had this humidifier for less than a year. It worked great...until it didn't. I'm having an issue with it shorting out due to a water leak in the base of the unit that drips into the switch board that connects the two parts together, under the plunger. This causes it to not operate and beep intermittently.
