Why make them like this?
I also didn't read into the description well enough because I thought these would be similar to joy cons, just more ergonomic. They can only be used while attached to the switch and I never play the switch like that. Why they would make joy cons without the wireless capabilities, I will never know. Unfortunately these will have to be returned because they are utterly useless to me.

Handheld playing only, not joycons
Really cute. These are not joy cons, they are for handheld playing only. Theres no motion capability and you can’t use them as separate controllers. As long as you understand that, they’re great. My son loves pokemon and plays handheld most of the time. He’s six and these are not too big for his hands. He never uses the joy cons anymore.

Don't recommend
Got this for my son and the controllers can not be used not attached to the switch. They only work on a few games that don’t require motion sense. Returning. Very disappointed.
