IAMS Weight and Appetite Management Chicken Flavor Dry Cat Food - 7lbs

No wonder this is 'healthy weight'. Half of the food is filler that'll go right through them. "But the description says "no fillers"", which no regulatory body (FDA) evaluates those statements like that. There are only two saving graces here: 1) It's not ridiculously expensive and 2) the first ingredient is actually chicken (not chicken meal, though that is #2). If you really want to help your cat lose weight, give it a place/time to exercise, do not free feed, and portion control. You give the food. You control its intake. No amount of this food will stop it from being fat unless you portion control. Per the guidelines, feeing a 12 lb cat 1/2 cup of dry food per day is ridiculous. Of course they're going to lose weight. The IAMS Proactive Healthy Indoor suggests 2/3 to 3/4 cups for a 12 lb cat. At only a 11% reduction in caloric content by weight, going from 2/3 - 3/4 cups per day to 1/2 cups per day is a 16-33% reduction in food. That's a lot. You can achieve the same results by cutting back on portions with a higher quality food. Also the ingredients and nutritional content really isn't much different than other IAMS products. it's just a name used to inspire the desire to buy a new product.

She immediately ate a big serving. The packaging was easy to open and does not have a strong smell. Overall we are very happy with this food.

One of my cats is very picky and usually doesn't like new things so I was quite surprised when I didn't need to mix it with their old product. It doesn't have the most pleasant smell but it's not terribly artificial or stinky.

Every Iams product I have ever fed my pets has been a hit. Iams is an excellent quality product and second to none in my furbaby home. Please keep up the great work!

She’s a hefty cat so I like to help with her diet as much as possible, and this food seems to really agree with her. The packaging was a bit difficult to rip open, which is a benefit in some cases. Means it’s harder for her to chew into or scratch open. So that was really nice actually.

I wish it could open without the use of scissors. I like how full this keeps my cat and the ingredients are good.

It was mixed with his normal dry food and he ate it without any problems. He eats dry food throughout the day whenever he’s hungry. I would definitely buy this food for him in the future!

I was hoping they would at least try it. Nope! Not one bite! Here’s a picture of two of my brat cats. Sorry I couldn’t do a better review. But my chunky cats want to stay chunky I guess.

My cats aren’t picky so they ate this just like any other food. I’m not sure that I noticed an improvement in anything but I don’t I would with only one bag of food. The ingredients are standard and I would think it would be effective with continuous use.

This does have chicken by product meal in it but other than that it seems to have really good ingredients for your fur baby. It seems to give them more energy then I've seen them have for a bit which I love because most of the time the sleep.

It’s got pretty decent ingredients for a dry kibble - I always feed wet food but offer kibble too. Some of my cats are picky and like a little texture with their wet food (spoiled). It doesn’t have a strong scent which is great. No one likes a smelly cat food! Overall the cats enjoy it, and if they’re happy - I’m happy!

IAMS healthy weight cat food is perfect as it has a smaller bite kibble size, chicken flavor and a pleasant smell. My cat really enjoys this food and has finished several bowls of it. I’m glad that it is made with high protein, l-carnitine and a prebiotic to keep her healthy. The food comes in a sturdy bag that recyclable. I will buy again.
