Surprisingly good!
First time using. Package impressed as it gave a fresh appearance. Easy to cook. Mild taste and kept its shape perfectly. I will buy these again to use in chili, rice and beans,and anything else.

Versatile & mild-flavored
I get these for the high fiber content (16g per 1/4 cup) and the affordability. They have a mild flavor that is good for soups and dishes with lots of other flavors. The texture is dryer than that of a Pinto or Great Northern but nowhere near as dry as a Lima bean. They are, in my opinion, a little trickier to cook to the right softness than are other beans. I soak them overnight (about 9 hours), get up to a boil, then simmer for the rest of the cooking time. 2 hours is too short and 2 1/2 is long. Trying to find a good middle ground.
