A: @Target: Puerto Rico is a territory of the US, therefore, shipping to the US is not "international" shipping. The US "acquired" Puerto Rico as a result of the Spanish-American War, where the US had a vested economic and strategic-power interest in Cuba for shipping and commerce, and Puerto Rico, along with Guam and the Philippines, fell victim to the US's victory in that war and were "given" to the US in the Treaty of Paris. It is offensive that Puerto Rico and its citizens - our citizens - are still treated like they are not a part of our nation. Responses like this are just ignorant and perpetuate "otherness" that continues to divide our nation. Do better.

Q: What tools are needed to put bench together? The manual that comes with the bench does not say. Lots of parts involved with the construction. Please help....

A: Assembly will require a M3 Wrench, which is included in the parts.

Q: I found that even with the washers in place the nuts don’t tighten all the way when used. They have a blue silicone stopper on them that prevents them from fully tightening. So the bench is very rickety. How do you overcome this?

Most of the components seemed to be of decent quality- including the cushion parts as well. I did have to return before completing and using though because a part was not machined properly thus not allowing me to continue to build. The parts were many- and the instructions fairly vague. I have to say that spending a little more money next time will be worth it.

I just bought, built and used this bench from Target. To me it was easy to assemble and worked perfectly for my needs. I'm not sure why some think the instructions are so hard to follow. I'm not into lifting extremely heavy weight but if you are then perhaps you should reconsider purchasing this bench.

I have two problems with this bench, first is that the building instructions are very hard to understand and second is that the bench only supports 220 pounds. I weight 158 and I bench 175 so this bench won’t work with me. I am not satisfied at all.

I'm a 5'6, 125 lb female lifting 40-50 lbs max, and this weight bench suits my needs for an entry level bench. I put it together mostly by myself and it was a pain, but doable in an hour or so. My husband used his socket wrench drill attachment to tighten the nuts & bolts, which is a must-have to put this thing together. I wish the seat bottom was adjustable too, but I got it on sale at my local store, so I can't complain too much.

A lot of the reviews here are critical of the fact that it's small. It's a home weight bench, so that's sort of the point. I'm 6'1'' and it's long enough. Your head won't have support in the upright or incline positions, but that's not really necessary for any dumbbell exercise I'm familiar with. Points taken off the board for bad instructions, which were essential given that this thing has a million different parts and screws and washers. The illustrations are bad and the text has turns of phrase such as "insert the backrest adjust pipe into the both backrest frames" and "please take note of that the L bolt is in the top hole." If you have reasonable expectations about how long it should be, and have a couple hours to spare for assembly, you'll be decently pleased with it.

Spent 30 minutes trying to assemble the cheap, poorly made pieces, got to step 2, decided assembling the thing shouldn’t be this hard especially at $100 for a bench.

It is what is it. Pretty fragile and weight limit is pretty low. If you are around 190 lbs and having lifting more than 50lbs it wouldn’t work for you.

Sat in box for ages as has a million pieces to put together. Took hubby a couple hours and then FIRST use, completely broke. My husband weighs 180 and was using 2x 20 Pound weights,, Which technically touches the 220 weight limit, but this bench snapped. Luckily he wasn’t hurt, but don’t buy it. I guess we are out of the return period too, go figure.
