The JENSEN SR-50 portable AM/FM digital radio can go anywhere you go. The radio features a rubberized finish, digital PLL tuning with 10 AM+10 FM presets and backlit LCD display. It's also a dual alarm clock with snooze function and wake to radio or alarm. Never miss a favorite sports team game, listen to your favorite radio station or catch up on the latest news. The unit operates on 4 x "AA" batteries (not included).
My first one of these lasted several years, fair for the price, so I bought a second. It lasted just a few weeks before its sound became unlistenable-ly crackly. Would have returned it if I had kept the receipt, but no. Hoping it might just have been bad luck, yesterday I bought a third. Right out of the box, its back-lit display flickered in time with the audio, and then its sound turned into loud, sustained static. This one is going back, and I’m not buying another — another one of these or another Jensen product.
Served its purpose. A cat peed on my main portable radio and I thought it was dead. I keep the radio on constantly so I NEEDED a replacement fast. NEEDED to use AA batteries, not C or D. This met the requirements and was available and cheap. It worked fine although a bit weak. Not badly so. The size was a BIT too small, but I. have it tucked away as a backup in case the radio I usually use dies.
I got this radio for the hurricane season for emergencies and for playing while working in the yard or at the beach. The size is good and it's easy to operate. The cons is the sound is a bit tinny and reception is weak even when the antenna is extended all the way and rotated at every which direction.
I like the size and features of this radio. Radio works well if it's in one place and facing good direction. But when I tried it on road trip (in a car with broken sound system) the Jenson radio quickly lost station signals. Then I plugged my mp3 player into auxiliary input jack. I was able to listen to my music for hours by using the radio as a speaker. I easily carry this radio to jobs. I use it when I don't want earbuds.

Never even played this radio so can’t comment about the quality of sound. Online description says power source is batteries, AC adapter which is deceiving. It didn’t come with adapter, have to order separately so took it back
