Joie Hazel and Rue Travel System

Let’s start off what I wish was better. Taking off the car seat from stroller you have to press two side buttons and lift which is easy with a newborn but can imagine a 30lb baby I wish it would be like the mint where you pull on a back handle and lift with the top handle. The base for car seat with latches and seatbelt moves side to side a lot. The canopy on the rue does not offer that much shade protection and it doesn’t come with cushions for shoulder straps. The stroller also does not offer that much height option for tall people. Putting the stroller in cocoon mode is super difficult to snap buttons. Lastly the three height options for car seat/ seat feel wobbly I’m worried it will break easily. However I do like how nice it looks and material feels good. I like that I can use the stroller seat from newborn and on. The stroller is somewhat heavy but avg compared to similar travel systems. All In all I just wish I would have purchased the travel system with the mint latch car seat instead! I would definitely recommend the hazel stroller for the quality and affordability!

Does this also turn into a bassinet mode ?

The worst stroller we have ever owned, Very Unsafe latching System, Poorly designed brake, Constantly binds when latching and unlatching. The folding mechanism/Design is awful and will only shut closed in a very specific way. Also the car seat does not cradle a newborn in a safe way at all....baby ends up in a crunched/tight super laid back position . Hard to get the baby in and out of the seat comfortably/Safely.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used 4 different strollers and 2 different travel systems between my 2 daughters age 2 and 6 months. This travel system and stroller is the best by far!! Not only is it stylish it has so many features I never knew I needed. Pros: *My partner is 6’4” and I am 5’5” - we love that the handle bar is adjustable. We have never had this feature on a stroller before and it is a quick adjust to either of our comfort level. *Even the actual seat is adjustable! This was new to me as well. I liked being able to slide the baby up a little closer. *The all terrain wheels - One of the major reasons I hated all of our other strollers/wagons was the wheels. We live in a neighborhood that has uneven sidewalks. I had to constantly lift the stroller the front of our other strollers when on walks to be able to get over the lifted sidewalk. No need with the Hazel stroller she goes right over the bumpy sidewalks. We have used it in the park on rocky and muddy paths with no issue either. *Storage - There is tons of storage under the stroller. The is even a privacy compartment that has a cover to store valuable items such as your phone or keys. *Cushion/padding - The travel system is very soft. I feel some car seats and strollers can be extremely firm and uncomfortable but not this one at all. *Leather details - I love the leather details and look of the stroller. It adds a very polished and sophisticated look. *Leg rest - OMG once again they literally thought of everything. The padded leg rest helps to support the long legs of my toddler or baby with easy adjustment. *Canopy - We have never had a canopy with so much coverage. My youngest one is not ready for sunglasses on our daily walks so the full coverage canopy provides great protection. *Easy up/ easy down - You will not believe the amount of times I have fought with a stroller in the mall parking lot. Either it was big and bulky and I couldn’t make room in my trunk or I struggled opening/closing it. The Hazel stroller goes down so easy and pops right up to be ready for use. No more embarrassing parking lot fights. Fits perfectly in the back of our trunks (Mazda Cx5 and Toyota Highlander) with room to spare. Reversible seat - I prefer to have my baby facing me while I like to turn my toddler around to be able to explore. Cons: *The carseat can be a little tricky to get connected to the stroller the first few times. We are honestly so happy with this travel system l will recommend the Joie brand to all my new mom friends. We have gotten a few questions and compliments when out.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like this stroller/carseat combo! Right out of the box the stroller was easy to assemble. It took me maybe 10-15 minutes to do by myself. The stroller drives smoothly and my 8 month old sits up very comfortably in it! The car seat clips into the stroller very easily for quick transitions from the car to the stroller. The straps on the car seat are easy to adjust. My only complaint is that it doesn’t come with strap cushions, so it leaves red marks on my baby’s neck. The car seat base is very light and really easy to switch between vehicles. Overall this product is easy to use and versatile!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a mom of 5 young kids, a quick and easy to use stroller is ESSENTIAL! We are on the go to sports practices, grocery stores, around the neighborhood and everywhere in between, so I take my strollers very seriously. I have really been enjoying this travel system. My littlest one (7 months old) is clearly very comfy in the car seat and it is super easy to strap him in and make sure everything is fitting as it should. Upon first unboxing, the car seat was nice, not too heavy to lug around and easy to install. My only complaint with the car seat is that I wish the canopy would be a bit bigger. I also would have loved to have been able to release the car seat from the stroller system with the push of only one button (although the two buttons on either side are very simple) and I wish I didn’t need to use car seat adaptors to attach it to stroller. I would love a seemless system that doesn’t require “changing around” when switching from using the car seat on the stroller and the stroller seat. The stroller is stylish. I like the black frame and the gray colors. The stroller system itself is simple and easy to fold and unfold, light to pick up and down and has great storage underneath. I especially loved the small separated compartment with a cover (although I wish the cover closed with something stronger than Velcro. My 2 year old really loved riding around in the stroller seat too and he definitely made himself. If you are looking for a compact stroller - this probably isn’t it. It definitely takes up a good chunk of trunk space. Aside from the precious trunk territory it overtook, this system felt super sturdy to push through all different terrain. I was able to make my way through a gravel parking lot and across grass and then across paved and indoor surfaces and was able to smoothly push through all. The tires are nice and large making this a good everyday stroller. The stroller that covers all the bases. Overall, I’ve really enjoyed this system. While there are some tweaks I would make (as noted in this review), the pros definitely outweigh the cons. You can definitely feel the difference between this stroller and some of the “Cadillacs” out there (my main stroller prior to this is one of the “higher end” strollers) but it really is a nice system that I would most definitely recommend to other moms!

While unboxing the product, I immediately felt the substantial and sleek technology integrated into this system. To be honest, I was a little intimidated. All of my previous travel systems have been Graco or Chicco. This is by far the NICEST stroller system I've ever had. We live in a downtown area, took the kids on walks and even took this stroller over terrain to the creek. All around, very smooth ride and my kid was HAPPY. He was so relaxed in this car seat/ stroller system. To give some background, he screams every time I put him in the Chicco car seat. I am in love with this product, it feels luxurious but accessible. My only negative feedback is that I had a more difficult time transitioning the stroller from its collapsed position to its open position. I may just need more time to adjust muscle memory, but I was not able to open the stroller with one hand. In addition to my newborn, I have a small toddler and an elementary school child. I am often on my own with the kids and we moms only have so many hands. Other note, I would love for there to be a sit and stand attachment to accommodate the toddler. The seat itself is so comfortable and light weight! My baby has had an aversion to car seats until trying this one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We got this about a week ago and love it! The car seat is light, fits great with the stroller. Easy in and out. My girl is 99% baby and she still has another setting to go in the infant carseat. I like lists so here's a list of pros and cons with the carseat. Pros: Lightweight! Easy to install and quick! Goes from 4 to 30 lbs Easy to use with the hazel stroller. Infant inserts are easy to take out and makes for easy cleaning HUGE PRO I was able to fit this in the back of my small car with two other car seats! Cons You will have to rethread the straps if adjusting but it's really easy. Just takes a few mins. I did a few times mix up the stroller release with the car seat but really not a big. Overall I'd say this is an amazing choice if you looking for an easy install, comfy padding, and lightweight. On to the stroller. This stroller fits in the back of my car and I have struggled to find something compact. We have used this on all sorts of surfaces. The wheels are amazing! They won't pop either! At one point we had my 4 year old in the stroller with his balance bike across the top! My 4 month old usually hates the stroller but in this stroller she can actually do tummy time and look out the front and loves it! And it's enclosed good so she can't just roll out. The little basket I think could improve if it was not Velcro but a zipper closure instead and I have had the lock mechanism come undone when taking it out of the back of my car but that is really my only complaints with the stroller. Overall this a great choice. Great quality. I've had a few friends ask about it simply for the fact it goes almost flat and baby can tummy time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We received this travel system just in time for our mini spring break trip and are excited to have it here as we gear up for summer. The packaging was very appealing; being bright and airy noting certain prominent features. Having 3 kiddos, our car seats and strollers have seen better days, so this was a nice upgrade! I love how the RUE is extremely lightweight and comes with an extended canopy (with UPF 50+ protection) to cover baby. The sun protection canopy is a huge feature (we live in LA) and almost a must-have for any car seat. It installs well without any fuss and comes with 3-piece inserts (which can be removed as baby grows) to help support baby's head and body; snuggly, yet comfortably. It's soft, comfortable and yet cool fabric keeps baby and mom happy. Lastly, it snaps into the stroller easy and seamlessly making for a smooth transition from car to road. The Hazel has been a complete game changer for us. I just love the overall look, feel and comfort of the handlebars. We walk a lot, so this is nice. Secondly, it's large all terrain wheels work very well for where we live. It handles all sorts of dirt roads, paths and pavements with ease. I just love the adjustable seat height feature! I didn't realize how much this comes in handy for baby and toddler.... The smaller storage compartment at the bottom is great. This is perfect to smaller essentials, i.e. snacks, wipes, toys etc. while on the go. The one-foot break has also been refreshing to have while out with it, makes things much easier. I will say though, the cup holder is not ideal. It is wobbly and does not sit secure on the stroller. We had some issues with water and coffee spillage when out. Lastly, while folding the stroller is easy, it is not clear on how to do it and took us some time. Overall, it’s a fantastic system. If you’re trying to decide on a color, I highly recommend the Thunder!

It is so versatile with all the different ways the kids can ride in it. Being able to simply flip the seat around to face me or face outward is game changing compared to other more expensive strollers that we have used. Plus the car seat can be attached as well. And all of the necessary accessories come in the box!! No need to have to pay for each separate accessory, everything you need is provided. The car seat is simple yet easy and comfortable for baby. My 12 week old has hated the doona and chicco car seat we have, she would cry everytime we put her in and the whole time in the car. But not with the joie car seat!!! I was completely shocked. The stroller has big tires that help make any terrain smooth. We took it for walks on sidewalks, through pastures, and to soccer games and never once had to have help getting it to our destination or issues with uncomfortable bouncing for baby. Overall, this whole travel system is top notch and worth it if you are looking for the best bang for your buck. We have 2 other travel systems with strollers as well as the doona and we will be using the hazel & rue everyday. It is so compact and light weight, easy to fold and the handle can adjust to your height or your partners. The features are just perfect as is the travel system. 10/10

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really enjoyed using this product overall! It was easy to assemble and use, the instruction manual was easy to follow. I really enjoyed the following features: the car seat being lightweight, the car seat having a base for easy installation into and removal from the car, the stroller being a good size to carry and to fit in the trunk of my sedan, and the size of the stroller basket to carry items. If I could change one thing, I would want the release side buttons of the car seat made differently to make the detachment of the car seat from the stroller easier.

My baby is only 10 weeks old so I have not been able to try out all of the stroller settings, but reversing the stroller and switching to the infant seat is very seamless. The adjustable handle is great with a foot height difference between my husband and I. The Rue car seat has great padding and supports babies neck very well. This system is easy to fold and stow similar to others with an extremely easy to use stroller release button. All in all, this is a great travel system that I can use for the next baby as well with its stylish neutral colors.

The car seat fits perfectly in my 4Runner with our other car seat. The baby is comfortable in this seat. The stroller is nice, I love the recline options on the stroller, I would be interested in trying the double stroller since I have a toddler but only floor the single for now. I like that the car seat is compatible with my Nuna stroller as well. My biggest recommendation is to make the car seat cover longer to be able to fully cover baby when sleeping. The cup holder is very convenient on the stroller.

The car seat material was so soft and comfortable for my baby! I love how the sunshade came down further than my other car seat. It was also so much lighter than any of my previous seats. The stroller was so simple to put together and had so many features that made it top-notch. Most everything you can do with one hand. The stroller folds up way smaller than I expected. There was also so much storage! Again, the material was very soft and luxurious feeling. The little basket in the back is perfect to throw the essentials in. The only thing I didn’t like was you had to switch attachments for the car seat to fit in the stroller versus the actual seat to the stroller. I used both the car seat on the stroller and the regular seat. I feel like I would definitely lose the attachments. I love how far the sunshade comes down and how much the seat reclines. Making for the perfect nap spot! The stroller works well on gravel, grass, and pavement. It’s very easy to steer. I would give this travel system a 10/10!

This stroller system is great! Extremely easy to put together. Love the extendable cover provides great coverage. The stroller is light and easy to store in a trunk or closet. I have a medium suv and it left plenty room for other things in the trunk. The large wheels are great on all terrains. It’s a smooth ride and easy to push. The size of the seat is great for your baby to grow into when they become a toddler. I have a 3 year old and 18 month they both are comfortable in it. I loved that the buckle has a button to adjust the waistband which is fantastic when you have a screaming toddler who just wants to go. This is such a mom friendly system! Couldn’t recommend enough!

For our 5 month old this has been hands down the best duo we have tried. To start off the look of it is stylish and trendy. The stroller went together in about 10 minutes as it was very easy and straightforward. The design is sleek and easy to maneuver for walks, shopping, and the playground. There is a leg rest that folds up which is great for our baby to push her feet on and kick against as she grows. There is a conversion from car seat holder to toddler stroller which is what we have always looked for when buying new strollers and the transition is super simple. We love that the car seat is narrow and comfortable as it fit great next to all the other car seats we have in our car. The one thing I always worry about with car seats is the bulkiness to it but this one did not disappoint. It is light and easy to carry and place in the car! We are really happy with our new stroller carseat combo!
