A: THIS ITEM IS GARBAGE. IT WILL NOT WORK WITHOUT THE APP. I TRIED TO DOWNLOAD THE APP TO FOUR DIFFERENT DEVICES AND IT JUST WONT DOWNLOAD. I USED AN IPHONE, ANDROID PHONE, 2 TABLETS AND IT WOULD NOT DOWNLOAD THE APP. I TRIED GOODLEPLAY AND THAT DID NOT WORK EITHER. I WILL HAVE TO RETURN IT.

Q: Does this give you blood pressure readings?

A: KardiaMobile does not take blood pressure recordings. But systolic and diastolic blood pressure results can be manually entered into the Kardia app in order to track your Blood Pressure. You can also transfer Blood Pressure recordings via bluetooth to the Kardia app if you have a compatible Omron Blood Pressure cuff.

At the recommendation of my cardiologist, I bought this device 8 months ago with the KardiaCare membership to detect a larger variety of irregular heartbeats. I may have gotten a bad device because I struggled to get an accurate reading from the beginning, despite following all of the device directions. Sometimes the device works but most of the time it doesn't. Furthermore, the app on multiple occasions said that it detected arrythmias that when reviewed by my cardiologist turned out to be false/incorrect. This ended up causing me a lot of needless anxiety. After months of trying to get a reliable reading, I have decided to trash/recycle this device. I really need a device to check my heartbeat at home, but I will have to look at other options.

We’re sorry you’re getting noisy tracings and having trouble with skin contact. Because KardiaMobile uses high-frequency ultrasound, keep the device within a few inches of your phone’s microphone and avoid electrical interference (e.g., unplugged charging cables, large screens, headphones, or hearing aids). Make sure your skin and electrodes are clean (moisten skin slightly for better conductivity), relax and stay still during recording, and replace the battery if your device is over a year old. If you still experience issues, please contact Customer Care at support@alivecor.com.

I’ve had my kardia for a few years and it no longer works well. I have to try to get a ready 7-8 times before it gets a reading. I get an error saying muscle interference but this is a new problem. I’ve never had the issue before.

Your fingers must be moist and put just the correct pressure on the unit to get a reading. Took a bit to get it right. Now I use it almost daily. Sometimes I get interference from computers and do not get a reading. I relocate and do reading again.

I purchased my own Kardia Mobile when I started having A Fib. I am a retired cardiac nurse so I know how to read the EKG lead. I can feel when I am having an arrhythmia but the Kardia Mobile confirms the A Fib and can be saved to show the cardiologist. I take a “pill in the pocket” when the arrhythmia occurs and can confirm when I am no longer in A Fib. I bought 3 family members that also have arrhythmias the Kardia Mobiles. They are wonderful!
