Get temperature results quickly and easily, when you need them most. The Vicks Speed Read Digital Thermometer provides accurate readings within +/- 0.2 degrees F in only 8 seconds. The unique Fever InSight helps you get temperature readings at a glance with a color coded display, and understand them easily. A green display suggests a normal temperature, yellow signifies an elevated temperature and a red display indicates a high temperature. Because it can be used as an adult thermometer for oral readings as well as be used a rectal thermometer for babies or even used under the arm for toddlers and kids, it’s perfect for the whole family. It also has a memory feature that recalls and displays last temperature taken, an automatic shut-off for longer battery life and is waterproof for easy, thorough cleaning.   • A: NO! This thermometer does not have a flexible tip, so you cannot use it rectally in an infant. I am a nurse. I don't know how they are claiming this is safe for rectal use. It is not. You have to have a thermometer with a flexible tip.

  • A: NO! This does not have a flexible tip and should not be used for infants! I am a nurse. You have to use a flexible tip for a rectal thermometer. I don't know why they are saying it is safe for that. It is not. Purchase a different thermometer with a flexible tip.

I was impressed with how quick it reads and signals, nothing compared to my old thermometer. I like that the thermometer is compacted but there is a focus on a bigger visual to read the temperature reading with more ease. I enjoyed that aspect and the color coding. Both are a great idea.     Needs Improvement

    This thermometer has some great features. It reads quickly, which is great (especially with little ones) and why I purchased it. I also love that it lights up to alert you of whether or not you have even a low grade fever. Unfortunately, this doesn’t matter when, like others have said, the thermometer reads inaccurately. I used this thermometer throughout my pregnancy and it always registered my temperature 1-1.5 degrees higher than what my temperature read at the doctor’s office. There’s no way to calibrate it. The other downside is that it doesn’t come with a storage case or cover. If Vick’s would address these issues, this has the potential to be a great product. Until then, I recommend going with a different option.

    Very inaccurate & no re-set

    I needed a thermometer quickly so purchased this. It seemed ok until today when my temp registered,ovee 100. I know my body well enough to suspect this. I managed to find another thermometer and re-took my temp, which was in the 99s. Also, there seems no way to re-set this to low.

Itll show green if good, yellow for low fever and red for high fever. When it shuts off it saves your last reading as well. Perfect for kids that wont sit still long enough for a good temp reading as well!

    This thermometer is not accurate. It gives mixed temperatures. I confirmed it’s not accurate when I went to the hospital and they took my temperature & it was very different from what this thermometer said. I brought this thermometer with me to the hospital so the nurses could see why I thought my temperature was what it was. I am a cancer patient and this thermometer caused me a lot of unneeded stress.
