A: Yes, this unit can read in either Fahrenheit or Celsius. There is a switch inside of the battery compartment that will change the thermometer to the temperature scale you want. I have no faith in the thermometer industry. What a scam! I tested it against a medical grade one I got from my lab out of curiosity. Turns out it was way off, and read high. This provided a huge scare to us. I can’t believe these are approved to be on the shelves. All of these promotional reviews are lies.

Expensive device led to ER

Thinking at $54, this would be a top of the line thermometer for our boys. We've had it for less than 3 weeks, rarely needed it. Today our 2 yr old was warm. Ran about 104° all day. Nurse said to watch it with meds. Tonight he spiked when it read 108° Frantic we headed to ER. Double Ear Infection but with a temperature that registered 101° the first time and 103° the second on the ER thermometer. Testing our Braun we brought along, immediately testing after, it read 108°5 and 107.2° respectively. The ER nurse and doctor said it should go back immediately and gave us one to take home...that read 100.5 as we left. What a completely scary unnecessary few hours due to a product that obviously doesn't do what it needs to do. No more Braun products for this family. Can't take the intense scare we experienced again. Old school mercury thermometers you get for $1.99 will be more accurate.

Horrible. Extremely unreliable temperature readings. Every single time I took my temp it varied anywhere between 97 and 106.5. Absolute garbage. I wish i had read the reviews before I ordered it and used it. I threw all the packaging out.

It is accurate and fast which is needed when you have a sick child that is sick and uncomfortable. It seems to be very hardy and small enough so adding it into a purse to bring with you when you’re traveling is perfect.

I like the bright screen and easy to read. Did not like it as it was not accurate at all! Had to scan my child’s forehead a number of times as it showed the theme was way high and they weren’t. Would have like to love this item but ultimately returned it as it was not sufficient.

I think it just reads your most current external temp so if you’ve been bundled in blankets your temp will automatically be higher.

I like that it has three different background screen colors to easily identify the if someone's temperature is normal, if they have a low grade fever, or if they have a high temperature. The thermometer gave me a few different readings within minutes of each other, however, this was when I tried taking my own temperature, which is a little difficult to do. You also have to make sure to keep the proper distance away from your forehead and point it between the eyebrows.
