KitchenAid Semi Automatic Espresso Machine with Burr Grinder Cast Iron Black

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is our third coffee machine so I am comparing three different brands. The coffee grinds well. The tamper is on a flat surface - our first and what a difference! Fabulous. The coffee pressure is very easy to adjust. The only bother I have is that the milk frother arm is too restricted. It doesn’t move much. BUT, it has great pressure and heats very very quickly compared to other brands. If this machine had a double boiler so I could make the coffee and heat the milk at the same time it would be perfection. It is a little light. I would prefer it to be a little heavier so that the machine didn’t move (only a little) when I inserted the coffee head.

Although new to espresso, I’ve been able to make consistent, intensely flavorful shots every time after a few days of trial and error. The grinder is extremely quiet and does an excellent job. Strongly recommend.

We were shopping for a new espresso maker and saw some video reviews of this one and decided to give it a go, trusting the KitchenAid brand. We could not be happier with the results. The flat bottomed feature for the dispenser is great. Super easy to operate. Set up though was a little bit difficult, but got through it.

We got this machine for it's quiet grinder and honestly it's great. We have a baby and wanted a machine we could use while she's asleep in the next room. Easy to use, easy to clean, quiet and reliable. Even comes in green! Love it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] the expresso machine is great but the water is not very hot. average temp on most expresso machine is 172 degree and yours is at the best 132 degree..over all we like the KITCHENAID.. the gauge meter is lazy and has a problem moving off its rest point. it moved one time when we first used it.

I’m surprised how quickly the drip tray fills up though, I’m not sure if it’s me using it incorrectly or if this is normal? Also I was given a bag of free coffee beans and a coffee masterclass as a free gift with the promo which was fantastic! However I didn’t receive any latte glasses as the promotion also stated I would. Not unhappy with the machine I really love it. For anyone who has purchased this machine there’s a secret storage tray underneath the machine behind the drip tray, this is where the extra filters are located for different sized shots. X

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this at Christmas and have been very happy with the purchase. It is simple to use, easy to clean, looks amazing and is very very quiet. Excellent feature for parents or early risers. And obviously the main feature - it makes really great coffee. I am in no way a professional and I am very happy with the standard I am making. Pros: Quiet - my old grinder sounded like an aircraft engine. The grinder in this machine could be used to put babies to sleep. Fast - heats water quickly and quietly Simple - I had it figured out with a few goes. Easy to follow guide and now my 8 year old helps me (supervised) and he can do it better than I can. Flat Portafilter - you can place it flat on the table and it makes a lot less mess. Really great feature. Removable Hopper - easy to swap from Regular to decaf Easy to keep clean - it doesn’t have too many living parts and the parts that do get dirty are easily removed and washable. Cons: The steam wand doesn’t have much manoeuvrability - it could be a little more flexible The hot water feature could be hotter - it’s fine for me, but if you like hot coffee you may need to add boiling water The catch tray fills up quickly- the process of making coffee in this machine creates more waste water than I have seen. It’s easy to clean so this is a small issue. The great features far outweigh the issues. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend to my friends to try it out.

The instructions and online videos were very helpful. I could keep writing but it's time for me to go make an expresso!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this espresso machine because I was frustrated with Breville not being able to provide support problems with one of their machines. I have Kitchen Aid appliances and have felt they were reliable. So far, that is true. The espresso made is quite good. However, the portafilter does not clean easily. Grounds do not come out of the portafilter using my knock box. I have to scrape them out. The foam you can make is just okay. I've tried various ways to improve the foam. Maybe the pressure isn't strong enough.

My darling husband bought me the semi automatic espresso machine knowing I am more of a hands on and love making coffee! The juniper colour is just absolutely gorgeous and will fit perfectly in our new kitchen. I couldn’t believe how easy it was to set up. I love the wheels at the back, makes it so much easier to move around on the bench top and then we get to the coffee! Well, what can I say but perfect. The grinder is super quiet and the steam wand froths the milk to perfection. Cannot fault this machine and look forward to my morning coffees, can’t wait to play at being a barista and trying all the coffees. Thank you KitchenAid, yet another winning product!!!
