I wanted so badly to like this machine, but after months of trying different grind/dose combinations, new beans, different beans, etc I have yet to pull decent shots. No matter what I do they’re thin and watery. I can’t get the pressure into the espresso range. Very disappointed especially given how pricey this machine is.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this recently as a replacement for one that had excessive water in tray after making 2-3 expressos. It also allows water to go in the tray but not as much. I was told previously that it should not fill up until at least 12 coffees. I can live with this now.

It has taken approximately three weeks (slow learner) to reach a level that I would call akin to our local professionally operated establishment. Experimentation is certainly the name of the game.

This is it. Every element is intuitive and satisfying to use. It makes you feel like a barista. The pressure gauge shows exactly when you're hitting the ideal espresso range, which is great for perfecting your shots. I've been experimenting with the recipe booklet that comes with it, and my family is obsessed with the lattes. Last but not least, the design is stunning. This machine is a centerpiece on my kitchen counter.

I have now had 2 of these machines, both of which have had significant issues with water tank leakage despite trouble shooting. I am so disappointed because I really like the look of this machine and it makes excellent coffee but it's unusable at this point because every time I fill the tank, I am left with a massive puddle of water on the counter which has destroyed cook books etc that were mistakenly left near the machine

We bought this espresso machine less than 1 year ago. Since then we have had ongoing issues with daily use. We have already been given 2 replacements and the issues keep happening. Everyday when we brew our first espresso the machine will shut off and the lights flash. Despite troubleshooting with the recommendations from KitchenAid, the problems persist. I do not recommend this product to anyone that is wanting a reliable espresso machine.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Was told to send two machines back because I was told by customer service it wasn’t normal to have water draining into the drip tray and then got a third machine and the pressure gauge doesn’t work at all and it still waste a bunch of clean water. Apparently it’s normal for it to use a decent amount of water even when just making a shot of espresso since it always drains into the drip tray… which means emptying the drip tray every couple days and filling the water tank more often than you’d think. I guess that’s why the water tank is larger than others it waste a bunch in the drip tray…. Tired of the hassle of returning machines and really disappointed I can’t get a refund.. and I’m not even the type of person to complain but this has been a disappointing purchase.

I the tried cleaning the grinder area as suggested by Kitchen Aid. It’s better for one grind. Then the grinds fry everywhere.
