Not what it used to be to be
Not sure what has happened to this product or brand. This dye use to be my go to for changing up my color because of the lift quality. The past two years of purchasing this and another bleach from Féria has been terrible! The boxes are clearly very old because they will NOT mix! The product is runny with clumps no matter how much it’s mixed. For the record, yes, I can read and follow the instructions correctly. Such a shame because this USE TO work and be wonderful. No I’m. It paid for this review. It’s honest.

not 7 levels of lift
some education - extreme platinum uses 20 developer, hyper platinum uses 30 developer. Skip hyper & use extreme. You will need 2 rounds. One strong bleach does more damage than 2 or more weaker lifts. Bleach = irreversible cuticle damage. It removes natural pigment by oxidizing melanin but also eats away at protein and lipids that protect hair. Hair doesn’t regenerate, but deep conditioning, protein treatments, and oils can temporarily reinforce it so it can withstand the next chemical process better. 2 weeks between sessions is the absolute shortest most professionals recommend, and only if your hair feels strong and healthy after the first round. 4–6 weeks is ideal though, it allows your hair’s cuticle to recover a bit, and gives you time to deep condition and restore strength before another round. An elasticity test - gently stretch a wet strand. If it springs back, it has resilience; if it stays stretched or snaps, it’s too damaged to bleach again yet. Texture check: If hair feels gummy when wet, straw-like when dry, or breaks easily when combing, wait longer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Honestly, this bleach system surprised me! It lifted my hair evenly without frying it, and it didn’t have that super harsh smell most bleaches do. My hair still feels soft, and the color came out way brighter than I expected.

This is bleach and not hair dye
This product does what it says it does… it is a bleach product that lifts color to lighten your hair, but it does not deposit color pigments into the hair! For those complaining that it left them yellow or brassy, it is not hair dye! As with any bleach it is lifting color from your hair shaft. If it was natural or had previous dye deposited, that will determine your outcome. After you use this product, you will have to use a toner to correct the color. That does not mean toner shampoo! You have to buy a toner that is specifically for whatever color your hair lifted to and add it to a 10 volume developer! Toner will correct the brassy hair or yellow. The main thing to remember using this is once color is removed from your hair, you still need to correct and then deposit color. If you color over it without depositing the toner, the open hair shaft could absorb too much color and not give you the results you want.

It cut through my dark hair easily without being too brassy. My hair didn’t feel dry after using like it usually would with salon bleach. The smell wasn’t too harsh either!

I don't know if the formula changed but I had to buy 2 boxes to.try and achieve a blonde and still extremely brassy. Never had this issue before and I've always used L'Oreal.

Platinum takes work
You will need more than one box. I've been bleaching my dark ash blond hair for years. Platinum takes three applications to get enough lift. Then I use lavender hair color and purple shampoo. This stuff is gentle on the scalp
