  • A: Hello William! Thank you for asking about our Cicaplast Balm and its use for scars. While not a dedicated scar treatment, Cicaplast Balm B5 is formulated to soothe, protect, and repair irritated skin. Its ingredients, like Panthenol and Madecassoside, create an optimal environment for skin recovery. This means it can help improve the appearance of new, superficial marks as they heal by supporting the skin's natural repair process. For established or deep scars, dedicated scar treatments might be more suitable.

Q: Can a 12 year old use this?

submitted by Tammy - 8 months ago
  • A: Hello there! While Cicaplast Balm B5 is generally very well-tolerated, we always recommend consulting with a pediatrician or dermatologist before using any skincare product on a child under 13, especially if they have any underlying skin conditions. Cicaplast Balm B5 is formulated to soothe and protect irritated skin and is suitable for use on both the face and body. It's often used for minor cuts, scrapes, burns, and dry skin. However, a healthcare professional can best assess your child's individual skin needs and recommend the most appropriate course of action.

Q: Will this get rid of the peeling all over my face!

submitted by Lily - 11 months ago
  • A: Hello Lily! Cicaplast Balm B5 is excellent for soothing and protecting irritated, dry skin, and it can be very helpful in relieving the discomfort associated with peeling skin. It creates a protective barrier that helps the skin repair itself and retain moisture, which can reduce the appearance of peeling. However, it's important to understand that it won't necessarily eliminate the underlying cause of the peeling. Peeling skin can result from various factors, including sunburn, certain skin conditions (like eczema or psoriasis), allergic reactions, or even some skincare products. If your peeling is severe, persistent, or accompanied by other symptoms like itching, redness, or pain, it's important to consult a dermatologist to determine the cause and get appropriate treatment. They can advise on the best approach for your specific situation and may recommend additional treatments alongside Cicaplast Balm B5. While Cicaplast Balm B5 can help soothe and protect your skin while it heals, it's essential to address the root cause of the peeling for long-term relief.

Q: Is this product acne safe? I use a 10% Benzoyl Peroxide facial wash and it drys my skin out. Looking for something hydratingand thick but not acne causing.

submitted by LS - 1 year ago
  • A: If you have normal to dry to sensitive skin this is a great product in the evenings to repair your skin barrier and leave your skin calm nurished and happy. If you have normal to oily to acne prone skin I would be mindful to not cover those spots while you have an active breakout until it is in its healing stage so you don't risk clogging those pores or trapping in harmful bacteria, potentially making the situation worse.

  • A: It depends on your skin. It’s a very thick, deeply moisturizing product. I don’t use it during the day because it would feel like too much on my skin. I use it sparingly , at night in winter or when my face is very dry. It’s more like a thick mask. It generally works best if you use it to seal in moisture, after a shower or at night where it has time to saturate.

Q: Hello, Can I use this product under my eyes? I use hydroquinone under my eyes to lighten hyperpigmentation. Hydroquinone makes my skin extremely dry. Can I use cicaplast b5 to moisturize?

submitted by R - 3 years ago
  • A: Hello R, Thank you for your interest in La Roche Posay Cicaplast Balm Vitamin B5 Soothing Therapeutic Cream for Dry Skin and Irritated Skin - 1.35oz. This Soothing cream may be used on the body as well as the face, however we do not recommend using directly on the eyelids as we have not tested this product on that area. Skin around the eye area including the eyelids tends to be thinner than on other parts of the face and body. We would recommend using our Hydraphase Intense Hyaluronic Acid Eye Cream. This hyaluronic acid eye cream moisturizes immediately and provides long-lasting hydration. Visibly diminishes the look of under-eye bags and puffiness. We hope you will give this product a try soon. Thank you for reaching out to La Roche Posay!

Q: Can I use this cream on new wounds on the face from a accident

submitted by Ed - 26 days ago
  • A: Hello Ed. We're sorry to hear about your accident. La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Balm B5 is designed to soothe, protect, and help repair the skin's barrier, especially for dry, irritated, and sensitive skin. It's often used for minor everyday irritations like dry patches, chapping, rough spots, and post-procedure skin that is intact and healing. The ingredients, while beneficial for intact skin, might not be appropriate for a deeper break in the skin, and could potentially interfere with the natural healing process. We would recommend you consult with your treating physician before using this product. We are wishing you a speedy recovery and we hope you will be able to try our products soon!

Butt paste for your face - Great!!!

Amazing! It saved my skin!! I was too rough on my skin (aging in early 30’s) trying to keep it young and I destroyed my skin barrier and ended up with perioral dermatitis. Now with putting on a moisturizer and then this over the top it makes my face look so much better than what I was doing to it. I put a dime size amount in my hands and rub the product between my hands. It warms it up (very thick). Then I just pat my hands around my face to spread it. Give it time to absorb into the skin. Your skin will thank you!

Rescued my skin barrier and stopped my itch!!

Yesterday my face was so red and itching and irritated. I realized my face was reacting to a moisturizer that previously had worked fine for me in the past. Joys of aging! I feel like my skin is always changing on me now. I immediately gently washed off the product with my Vanicream cleanser, sprayed a light mist of the LRP thermal water mist and added this balm. I’ve worked this balm into my routine just last night and this morning and it’s a miracle! No itch, no redness, no more dry spots already. Use sparingly and it will last a long while! I use the tiniest amount and gently rub it between my fingers, then gently pat it into my skin. My skin absorbed it beautifully. It feels smooth and not too greasy at all. Highly recommend! It complements my existing collection well. I am new to LRP and already am so impressed. I explained all my products and skin sensitivities and symptoms to Chat GPT, and this is the product it recommended for immediate relief and repairing my skin barrier. For the price and 20% off beauty sale, it was definitely worth a try. I’m so glad I did! I also currently use Sisley Paris, Caudalie, Vanicream, Bioderma and La Roche Posay products. I truly get the best product for my sensitive, aging skin in each category, regardless of brand or price. This product is my new winner for dry skin patches, and repairing damaged skin barrier and conquering the itch!! It beat out Kiehl’s, La Mer, Clarins, Chanel and more. Those all got returned due to causing irritation, redness, itching, stinging, or greasiness. Some of those other brands even gave me those little clogged pores. Definitely try this! You won’t regret it. And best thing about Target over Ulta and department stores is you can try it for 90 days risk free! Totally worth it!

Used on a bad dry patch by my son’s mouth thay would not go away. We tried Vaseline, aquaphor and skin repair and none of them did anything. We used this and it cleared it up fast! This is a one day difference!! It’s a small bottle for the price but worth it!

    Too Expensive Unfortunately

I love this product but I only use it at night and I've had to buy 5 of these since April. Which makes this $165 a year... that’s more than I want to spend on my night time moisturizer. :( Wish they had bigger tubes with a better price point.

    Winter Weather Savior

This is your winter holy grail if you live in the Midwest or worse. I get it every year as a full face treatment if I know I’m gonna be in the winter wind or I’ll put a little on in the creases of my nose, eyes, and on my cheekbones daily to protect my skin. I’d mainly recommend it for dry or combo skin because it could easily be too much for oily skin.

A rich, soothing balm that quickly calms and repai

I’ve been using the La Roche-Posay Balm 5 for a while now, and honestly—it’s one of those products that lives up to the hype. The texture is thick and creamy, almost like an ointment, so a little goes a long way. I usually use it at night when my skin feels dry, irritated, or a bit overworked from the day, and by morning my skin looks calm and hydrated. It’s amazing for repairing your skin barrier—especially if you’ve been using exfoliants or retinol and your skin feels sensitive. It also works well on dry patches, around the nose, or even on your hands. It doesn’t sting, and it’s fragrance-free, which is perfect for sensitive skin.

    Nourishing, gentle, postpartum-friendly

My skin has always been really dry, and nursing made it even worse. This cream is way better than any I’ve tried! It really nourishes my skin. I’ve had a few pimples pop up, but that’s probably just postpartum hormones. The only thing is it sometimes peels a bit if I layer an oil on top, but other than that, it’s been amazing for my skin!
