Laura Mercier Caviar Tightline Eyeliner

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve used several of Laura Mercier’s products but never the eye liner. I don’t usually buy a liner I have to sharpen. It’s a very soft liner so no rug on your skin. The color is less harsh than black. I’m loving it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m a devout liquid eyeliner user (cat eye forever) and have been since I was 15—I’m 46 now. However I chose the Bronze pencil as part of the birthday gift from LM, and I have to say, I’m shocked how much I’m enjoying it, and I’m already looking at other colors. I’ve been putting it right in my top lash line, adding a little more at the outer edges, then quickly using an angled liner brush to smooth and smoke it out a little, blending the outer edges up to subtly lift the eye. It’s creamy, but easy to not get all over if you use a light hand. I’ve tried other brands’ gel pencils but this one is creamier and doesn’t require tugging or pressing hard. The bronze color isn’t too orange, it’s actually deep, shimmery brown and the shimmer is not glittery, it’s sophisticated. I think I’m going to get the black one next to do a more subtle version of my usual liquid liner pen.

I first bought this product in a dark blue color when I was in Europe, but found an even better color online when I returned home to the USA! Better than the Clinique product I had been using, which wears off in a few hours.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have twisted and twisted the bottom and nothing more is coming out. I would expect to have product along the whole length but it appears to be just the tip. I’m very disappointed in this product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the Caviar eyeliner in Dark Plum. (I also have the Espresso Brown.) As an eyeliner, I think it is exceptional: Soft, easy to apply, and long-lasting. For me, I would prefer the colour to be more of a plum. On my eye, it looks more black - looks lovely, but I can't see the "plum".

This glides on easily and can be blended when first applied. After, it stays put.Color is a personal choice but I purchase the bronze. It's a soft looking color, noticeable but not harsh on fair complexion and older eyes.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been a long-time wearer of the cake liner and was so disappointed that it was discontinued. I tried this and at first thought it might work, but it's easy to make the lines too thick, and it smudges. Also, because it's harder to come off, the smudges stay. I looked a mess. I wish you would bring back the cake liner.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It’s a good liner, but it needs be be an automatic pencil that doesn’t need a sharpener. The product breaks off in the sharpener and really never gets a point that is just like right out of the box.

I really like this eyeliner for the ease of application. However, it seems to fade/run, does not last the day. Also, even though I purchased and am using the sharpener recommended, it does not sharpen well. It is difficult to sharpen and so much is wasted, which is especially a problem at the cost of this pencil. I really want to like it for how easily it applies, but the downsides outweigh that one advantage.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The tightline pencil does not come with any instructions how to reveal/expose more product. It has a plastic-like collar that would appear not appropriate for a makeup sharpener. The product page description does not explain that a special tool is needed to sharpen it. The client care team read from a script and did not seem to know how to convey instructions to me (it was obvious that she had not used the product). A makeup artist (thank you Sarah) via Chat explained how it works. 3 stars for Client Care experience and special sharpening tool that was not sold with the pencil. Otherwise, the product glides on nicely.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Long lasting with primer, setting powder or spray. Great color. Goes on easily with good control. Easy to blend with liner brush. Would purchase again.
