Q: I purchased an eyeliner with a description that CLEARY reads it comes with a built-in sharpener. One Target Consult replies the eyeliner is self-sharpening, another suggests using the built-in sharpener. Which is it? I wish I could return it

A: To sharpen it, wrench off the other end (white). Then cram a Q-tip into the tube to push out more of the pencil, so it's no longer a nub. Then use a pencil sharpener. Good luck!

Q: When I twisted off the white cap at the end, it just broke off. Seems something is missing. There is no way to extend or sharpen the crayon. Can you please explain? I don't see the "built-in" sharpener you're referring to. Thanks!

I've used Almay eye liner products for decades. This Gel eyeliner is too wide (even after sharpening), too greasy, and too soft to be usable for eye lining. For me, made my eyes look like a raccoon. If you don't want the wide, greasy, smudgy look, I'd highly recomment Almay's Top of the Line Eyeliner pencil. I have brown hair and hazel eyes, and the Brown 207 in that Top of The Line Eyeliner is perfect. The Top of the Line eyeliner is reliable every morning, stays on all day, and is a quickly one-swipe application.

You can definitely sharpen this pencil with a normal eyeliner sharpener. I know it doesn’t look like it (and the instructions are trash) but it actually sharpens really easily. However, I did find it a little tricky to get a fine tip, but it may have just been my dinky little sharpener. This eyeliner goes on beautifully and wears well. I wish the deep purple color came across as a little more purple, I feel like it just reads kinda dark brown or gray on me, but it looks nice! I really like the gel texture

Nice color, product goes on nice. But there is no way to advance the liner out of the pencil. You have to pull the bottom cap off and shove a Q-tip through to push the product up. If you push too much it can’t be pushed back down, it will break, wasting a good amount of the liner. Why would Almay make an eyeliner without a way to advance the liner. Shouldn’t be sold this way!

The pencil is made to look like you can twist the top & extend the tip, but you can’t. It lasts maybe 3 to 4 weeks. It’s basically false advertising and a rip off.

I really like the color of this eyeliner, but every time I use it I wake up the next morning with the MOST AWFUL irritated eyes. And I don’t sleep in the eyeliner. Both eyes are bright red, inflamed, and filled with goop. It’s scary and alarming. It takes about 2 days for the issue to resolve. I missed work one day due to my eyes looking SO AWFUL!! It’s not pink eye. I normally love Almay products so this is so disappointing. I’ve slowly eliminated all my eye makeup and re-introduced one product at a time and this is the culprit. I have zero other sensitivities/allergies. I will never wear this brand again. The product designers need to look into this.
