Add a dutch oven, a deep skillet, a frying pan and a shallow skillet to your kitchen with the Cast Iron Combo Cooker from Lodge. This black combo cooker features two cast iron pieces. When put together, they form a cast iron dutch oven that holds up to 3.2 quarts of food. When separate, you can use either piece for anything from fried eggs to sourdough bread. Each piece features a long looped handle and a smaller handle on the opposite side — perfect for easy cooking and storage — and the cast iron material makes for great heat distribution and retention no matter how you use it.

A: Cast iron is not non-stick; over time, with proper use and care, the seasoning layers will build up to a naturally non-stick surface, but this takes time. Below are some tips for cooking on the stovetop that will help when cooking.
*Add extra oil to the surface before cooking
*Start on the lowest setting you have allowed to heat for 3-5 minutes then gradually increase the temperature
*Cook on a lower temperature, medium is enough heat to sear a steak, most foods can be cooked halfway between low and medium.
*Allow food to sit out while the skillet is heating up, If the food comes straight out of the fridge it can stick and break down some of the seasoning.
*Avoid cooking foods that hold moisture like vegetables or acidic foods until the cookware has been used 8-10 times.

A: Lodge Cast Iron comes pre-seasoned, this means we have done the first layer for you. Since seasoning is an ongoing process, you will need to rub the cookware with cooking oil before and after each use to help build up additional seasoning layers.
Since the pan is new, I would wash with hot water, clean with a nylon bristle brush or non-scratch pad, rinse, hand-dry immediately, and rub the surface with cooking oil. Now the pan is ready to be used or stored.

Awesome, versatile and will last a lifetime!
It's obviously heavy so if you can handle that, this is the most versatile pot (and pan!) that i own. The shape works for pretty much anything from eggs to casseroles and the frying pan lid is a great medium size with just the right "lip".

Rust or scrapes and brand new
The size is great, I’ve always loved lodge… but I just got these today and have no choice but to use them since we’re camping a bit away, and my friend forgot to bring hers. Rust or scraping on new items? So strange in so many spots, I dunno. I would appreciate a response from the company though.

not for everyone but those of us who love them, LOVE them
Cast iron pans work great on all types of stoves (and ovens) if you go in with realistic expectations. They're not lightweight or dishwasher-friendly and they aren't the same "nonstick" as Teflon or its younger cousins. They require occasional seasoning and they must be hand washed and kept free of any water between uses---iron rusts if it's kept wet. If you're willing to deal with a bit less convenience, there's really nothing like food cooked in cast iron. Bonus: They'll last generations. I've enjoyed the same set of Lodge pans for over 25 years.

Rust spots
I didn't even get to use it. After opening the box and taking them out, I immediately noticed a large rust spot on the pan. How does that even happen? They need better quality control. Unless, it's a matter of they sell a certain " standard", of product to Target? Poor form, if that's the case.

Because you get a Dutch oven, a 10.25 in frying pan which is also the lid to the Dutch oven, 3.25 in deep 10.25 frying skillet for frying chicken, making soup, boiling noodles or whatever and so much more. I absolutely love this for making my sourdough bread in. It turns it out beautiful & so tasty. It will last a lifetime if you take care of it. Do not forget to season it when it needs it.
