This pan is well made, evenly enameled and has a well fitting lid. It is made in China, not in the Lodge foundry in the US, but the quality is better than the other Chinese made stuff I have seen. I have used it to braise short ribs starting on the stovetop and than into the over for hours and eve...see moreof the reviewer's review

I am an experienced cook, and have several bare cast iron pieces, including several made by Lodge. Lodge's bare cast iron is good; unfortunately I can't say the same about this enamel pot.Bought this last week (Dec 29 '09). I followed the instructions included with this casserole and kept it on med to med-high heat. It's a very attractive pot, and I really liked it for a while but then the enamel covering the bottom of the pot began to crack and chip. I finally returned it when a large bubble formed under the enamel. I...see moreof the reviewer's review

I bought this pot and after one use there were big chips in the enamel. It has only gotten worse. I bought this after reading the reviews saying how great the pot is. As far as the way it holds heat, it is a good pot, but to have all of the enamel flaking off just a junk. I wish the enamel was of a ...see moreof the reviewer's review
nice pot but got rusted easily

The lid does not seal the pot very well, so if you keep heating, you need to refill water frequently. The most important, the iron of the lid edge is not painted, so never let the edge touch water, and need to keep it dry! I already got the whole rim rusted after leaving it in the sink in one day!see moreof the reviewer's review
